OPT Issue - School Closing

I am currently a F-1 student visa holder about to send in my application for Post completion OPT, but as of now my school will be closing on August 31st. Will my application be denied because my school will be closing? Is it even worth applying for OPT at this point or am I better off applying to graduate schools to stay here legally? Who takes my SEVIS responsibilities/ who would be my DSO contact?

SEVIS & UCIS both have little to none useful information when speaking with multiple representatives

Thanks

What if I were to apply prior to them closing? I already have my i-20 with recommendation, but am scared that because the school is closing that once it does even if I were approved I would be terminated from the system? Any further insight on this?

Even if you get your OPT approved and later on start working, your ISO/DSO needs to update your SEVIS record with your work address which cannot happen if your school is closing down. If that's not updated withing 90 days, you are considered unemployed for more than 90 days and your SEVIS will be automatically terminated.

I guess the only option you have is either join another school or leave the country.
