Still no Green Card

I entered the US on February 3rd, 2016 on a CR-1.

I have my passport stamped when I crossed the boarder (drove) and got to the US. After 3-4 weeks, I received my SSN card in the mail.

I have still not received my Green Card. I had no way to track it as how you pay for it now does not give you a case number. About two months ago I called the USCIS and was able to speak to a tier 2 and get a case number (IOE number).

Problem is the case number does not work online. When I try to use it to track, it just give an "User-Defined Error". I created an account at USCIS to track my case and it works slightly better, showing my what type of form "OS155A" which from what the Tier2 told me is right. But nothing else.

When I call USCIS Tier 1 can tell me nothing, they can't even see my case and they have to transfer me to setup a call back from a tier 2.

The first person I talked to that gave me the case number 2 months ago I believe (I forget exactly) told me everything was fine.

When I called back a month ago they told me that everything is normal but they didn't recieve my paper work from entry until the end of march so my receipt date is beginning of April (I believe the 6th is what they said)

so they have 90 days from then.

So that would be today. And still no green card. Has anyone had an issue like this? I wish I could just track it better. Seems with ELIS before you could but now nothing.

I want to call back again today but it takes so long to talk to anyone and then I have to explain and get the call back, which says it will take 45 minutes but they usually end up calling 2-3 hours later and I am kind of busy tonight and

they expect you to have info on hand when they call back.

Any input anyone has would be great.

No you should have the hard copy green card within about 6 months tops. If it takes longer than that you need to get moving on it. Technically they have a year from entry, but it should not take that long

Yes, I paid it the day after I got the package back from the consulate, maybe 2 weeks before crossing in the US.

I tried to call on Thursday and Friday to see what they would say now. Thursday they said I was to late to talk to a tier 2 (as they are the only ones that can help me, tier 1 sees same error as me). Friday I called once and they had closed the transfer line as they were busy, called back again and it was open but no one ever called me back. Guess they didn't get to me before closing time.

Figure I should try to call one more time to see.

So I was shocked when my phone rang this morning at 7:04am central. It was USCIS calling me back. Was put on hold for a long time for a callback system. Then at 7:55, the line went silent (no more hold music) and then they hung up on me. Guess I will call in a few hours and ask for another call back.

I called back and got a call back about 2 hours later. He told me that their has been no update on their side since May 10th (which I feel like is the first day I called them) and that he is submitting a service request for me. He submitted it and it told him that I should get something in the mail on or before July 26th about what is going on.

So I guess I wait for that and then from there, call back or get a congressman involved. Seems I don't have many other options. All the customer support honestly seems half confused on me calling for my green card. Like when they ask if I have a case pending and I say sorta as it is just for the production of my green card after entering the country on a CR1, they start asking about me applying...etc. you would think they would know the process.

Spoke to USCIS yesterday, I had spoken to them on July 11th and they put in a service request for me (tier2 put it in) and said I would hear from them on or before the 26th of July. I didn't hear from them so I called again.

She told me that they did reply to my service request and it was dated the 22nd of July. I never got it but yeah.

She told me that it is taking them about 6 months right now to process (not sure if it is all service centers or the one I am at). Since they got my paperwork late (I entered on February 3rd but they show my receipt date as April 6th...over 2 months later) that it would be about 6 months from that date...so that puts me somewhere in October I guess.

Today I go and check the mail, and there is a letter in the mail from the Texas Service Center for my service request. It is dated on July 22nd but they only printed the electronic stamp on the envelope on August 3rd. The service request doesn't really say anything....it just says that "Further research is needed in regards to your inquiry. You should receive correspondence within the next 90 days regarding this case". Is that the normal reply when you are within the normal time or does them needing to do further research a bad thing meaning my case could have slipped through kinda thing.

Only good thing is my A-number is on the letter and is right. So least I know I have the right receipt number (as I was told it over the phone).

Just want to know if this is bad and if we should really try to contact our congressman this week to have them try to look into it.

It wouldn't hurt to contact your congressional office at this stage.

So we were getting everything together to contact the congressman and I got a text and email that my case had been updated. The email says (and online shows the first part):

"On August 9, 2016, we mailed your new card for Receipt Number IOExxxxxxxxxx, to the address you gave us. If you do not receive your card by September 8, 2016, please go to www.uscis.gov/e-request to request that we send your new card to you. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

This step applies to applications that result in an applicant receiving a card (such as a "green card") or other document (such as a naturalization certificate, employment authorization document, travel document, or advance parole). Applications will be in this step from the time the order to produce the card/document is given until the card/document is produced and mailed to the applicant. You can expect to receive your card/document within 30 days of the approval of your application."

So the little second paragraph is odd. Does that mean they have not really produced it yet or mailed it? At least it is some movement. Looks like the service request had them look at it at least maybe. Is there any way to tell that the card is actually shipped? Only other thing I can see online is for August 10th (today) "We approved your Form OS155A, Immigrant Visa and Alien Registration."
