You could maybe "audition" as an extra, but you won't get very far with that if you're not authorized to work. For an actual role, it's very unlikely you would even get in the door of the casting office where the auditions take place.

My plan would really be to tempt fate... So I don't think I'd ask for a working Visa just for a movie audition... If this is possible... maybe I'll do it, if not... nothing. :/

no such thing as a work visa for a movie audition.

Hi to to you all!

I recently found two acting schools in NY that offer brief acting courses of a lenght of six weeks. But these schools don't offer visa sponsorization... even though they accept international students. I'm writing from Italy!

My questions are:

1 - Is it possible for me to join these courses with a normal ESTA authorization?

2 - How would I do to present me at some audition without any VISA?

Thank you in advance!

I think you posted the same question last year in 2016. You should contact those schools to get more information on how to take those courses.

Or contact USCIS and ask them.

I know many if not all of these shcools require working papers from the USCIS to be authorized to take these programs/classes, or audition and work of course.

You can always check on the O-1 visa if you have special skills in arts, etc.

Sorry I dont have more accurate info on this. Hope you can achieve your dream.

PS: For what I read in some websites many audition agencies do not even hire someone without working papers. Perhaps you should see if you can get an agent when you travel to US.

You almost certainly will have to come back.  Unless you are already well known, getting a visa to be an actor will be near impossible.

Why?

Is it impossible even if joining a school (or course) where internship is available? I mean UCLA certificates in Acting or similar...

Internships and acting school doesn't matter much, frankly- especially because there are no "Bachelor's in Acting". It's not like getting a science or computing degree, then OPT and then a employer is so impressed they will hie you and pay for your greencard.

It is the employer that needs to pay for a work visa ($10'000+), and show no American can do the job you do.

So this means that you can hope to get a role only by enrolling to a conservatory, right? These "brief" courses are unuseful... aren't they?

Bingo!

If you're such a great actor you'd be known in Italy first and then be offered a role overseas. So maybe focus on your home country first?

And what about some wants create a career abroad? What are UCLA certificates (for example) there for? Just wasting money?

They're for people who want to learn more so they can apply to their craft back home. Not everybody wants to take a certificate course at UCLA because they want to move to the US.

And who wants it?

What about OPT?
