Hello Guys,

I just submitted AOS & IV documents for my spouse (CR1 visa). While filling out I-864 (Affidavit of Support) I missed couple things so I printed it out and hand wrote the missing things. I heard that the brocade on the bottom of each sheet will not catch the things that I have hand written. Is this going to be an issue? Will I get check list for writing with pen and typing on the same form?

Thank You for your help.

Every time you type something on the form, it changes the bar code on the bottom. So, yes, your hand written words will not be interpreted by the computer. If they don't question it, remember to fix it properly and bring a new version to the interview.

You might or might not get the checklist.

It's true that what you've handwritten will not show up in their system once they scan the barcode. After scanning, if the person is kind enough to type or check in their system for whatever you have handwritten on your form, you will not get the checklist. If he/she is pissed to do that and don't bother to revise themselves, you will get a checklist.

I just submitted my packages on Friday. Should I send my I-864 again or wait till I get checklist if I am going to get one? Any suggestion?

Thank You.

All of my documents that I've filled out were initially typed and when I was double checking my paper work before sending them out to the NVC I always had to hand write some things again.. It's common for some things that were typed into the form to not get printed (not sure why) and I never got a checklist neither did it lengthen my review time I believe (my docs were reviewed and case completed in 30 days)..

You need to wait for the checklist if you get one before you send any new information.
