hi, my fiance and I just started filling out forms.. we havent submitted anything yet since we just got engaged.

he is accomplishing the I-129form already and hopefully he can submit it before August 2016

he plans to visit me in September and stay a while here in Ph while waiting for the process to complete.

i researched that it will take 2-3 weeks for the confirmation letter once they received the petition and another 3-8 weeks for the approval of petition or if they need more documents.

question: can he do that while he is in Ph? can they send the docs to manila address instead of the US address?

thanks

Figure 1-2 weeks on the NOA1 and 85+ days (12+ weeks) for the NOA2 approval. Your research is a little off based on current reported timelines. Our NOA2 took 84 days and we were one of the lucky ones. The are still 138 unapproved NOA1 from March 2016 filers on Visa Journey.

They will not send the notices of approval or eventual requests for more evidence to an address outside the US. He needs to have someone checking his mail at home while he are away.

If it isn't difficult, it isn't worth it.

The I-129F petition package must be mailed to the TEXAS lockbox address (PO box for mail, other for FEDEX, UPS), from there it will be directed to the correct service center.

As long as everything the petition is complete and you don't get an RFE for additional documentation there is no reason not to travel. (make sure to have someone collecting your mail for notices from USCIS)

It's best to have an address that he has access to as well as someone else in his absence in the event he gets correspondence while he is away.

A helpful guide for USEM processing is at the link below at the red twisting arrow.
