Adjust of Status taking extremly long time

Good evening guys,

I arrived in the USA on a K1 visa on the 10^th Dec15. My spouse and me get married on 8^th Jan16. We send our paperwork for adjust of status on the 25^th Jan 2016. End of February we received a request for evidence concerning my wife’s income, we send it back in Middle of March to the USCIS. On 6^th April16 the USCIS send us a notification that the proofs were received and that they will begin to work on our case again. On 25^th April16 I receive my employment authorization card and started to work almost at the same time. Since that I have to admit we didn’t really follow the case as we tough it will follow. But now that we are on the 5^th of July. My wife and myself starting to get pretty anxious about out case as nothing moved on since we received the employment authorization. My question is that one, how long it takes for them to resume your case after receiving the requested documents? Because it’s almost 3 months now since nothing moved on our case.

K-1 AOS can take 8-10 months. I would not worry just yet.

That's definitely not a long time at all - we waited almost 9 months between sending in our AOS packet and getting the interview. That's why you have your EAD - to bridge the gap between arriving and getting the green card.

Over a year would be long. Under a year is normal.

we're on 13 months and counting, so sit tight. we're also waiting anxiously for his EAD and AP renewal to go through, which also seems to be taking its sweet time.

Very normal, ours took just under a year. If anything relax, once you get an RFE you know they're actively working on your case. Hang tight.

We applied in October 2015 and just had my interview at the end of June, receiving my green card a week later. It takes a while, but I wouldn't worry just yet hang tight!

Of course. That's why many people choose to do the CR1 visa. Personally we chose the CR1 because of the lack of travel restrictions, working ability, and price. In that order.

Yes we were missguided on the process, we took an imigration lawyer here in Texas and he didn't advice us that if we were married in Europe before and then file for a CR1 we will have less frustration and a better process. On top of that he filed the paperwork wrongly, instead of choosing the consulate in Frankfurt as I was a German resident for the interview, he choose Brussels as I am a Belgium citizen, we lost 5 months fixing the issues between the NVC and the embassies, when I finally received my K1 I had 25 days to move to the USA because my medical was done in September 2015 as the Consulate in Frankfurt recommended me to do it to gain time. a Total chaos trust me.

We both have Seattle as a field office. I had thought that they were current as of February, at least from what I have seen by searching back on timelines on VJ. Guess I was off on that. What status is your 485 application in online?
