People, I have a question, do I need to get an appointment for SSN office? or I can just walk-in to drop off application for SSN?

P.S. Went with my husband to the bank today and EAD was enough to add me to his account but they want me to bring SSN once I get it.

you dont drop the application off... you turn up take a number stand in line then when you number is called you go to the desk and it takes a few minutes for them to type the information your wrote down on the application into the computer and they will either say congrats everything went through successfully you should recieve your card withina week or they will tell you DHS need to verify your immigration status and to wait a few days and callif youve not heard anything

For those who received their EAD in the mail did USPS require a signature? My card is scheduled to be delivered tomorrow but I won't be at home. I'm hoping they'll leave it in the mailbox so I won't miss it when I get back.

mine didnt need a signature it was left in the mailbox.. it come in a small white cardboard envelope its small enough to fit inside your typical mail box... if the mailman refuses to deliver it when ther eis no required signature which i have heard has happened to people then there just being an A-hole but no there is no required signature

Day 79 - EAD case is still in "Case Was Received" status :( Service Request made on September 29th did not make any changes :(

I have a job offer and it is such a bummer... I don't know what to say to my employer :(

I believe you need SSN to apply for job and for bank account SSN is not necessary. I live in CA and I don't have my SSN yet but I have 1 personal bank account and 1 joint account with my husbands. I also have a CA driver's license

Can you describe how did you get your CA driver's license if you don't have SSN? I kinda want to do the same, since I am so bored waiting for my EAD.

Hello, I have a question, I filled out SSN application but the problem is that I have a long name and field "other names used" is not enough for me, I need more space. In USCIS forms I was just attaching "attachment" with my other legal names used, can I do the same with SSN application?

Or, can I use black pen to write down part of the name that didn't fit in the field?
