Hello everyone, I have a question. Do I need SSN to get a simple job like in customer service or fast food restaurant?

And do I need SSN to open my own bank account?

To start working you will need both the ssn and ead. Not one or the other but both of them.

Depending on the bank you go for, there will be no need for a ssn to open an account

Mine is working the next day of receiving text message. But other still have not worked for months unless you call them after you finish your Bio to let them know.

Just got my EAD card ????

Can't wait to you guys receive yours as well!!!

How many days does it take from Card was mailed to me until it change to USPS has picked up the card or something to you?

14 August 2015 : Mailed I-129F through USPS express service

02 September 2015 : Received NOA1 hard copy by mail.

05 October 2015 : Case number was assigned.

20 October 2015 : Packet 3 arrived in my hand.

03 November 2015 : Got Packet 4 e-mail from Bangkok embassy about the interview date.

18 November 2015 : Visa interview and it was approved!

20 November 2015 : Got documents and a passport with K1 Visa back in my hands

yes, you need a SSN to get any job as far as I know and you definitely need one to open a bank account. I tried to add my name to my husband's account before I got one and was unable to until I did.

How many days does it take from Card was mailed to me until it change to USPS has picked up the card or something to you?

Sep 21 was approved and yesterday changed to usps picked up and I got it in the mail today.. did not change to card was mailed to me.

Depends on the bank. I can vouch for td bank that you don't need a ssn to be on joint account with a us citizen. In another topic, people came forward saying citizens bank and Bank of America are also ok for non citizens

Mine says card was mailed to me too. I'm hoping it arrives by the end of the week.

My status just changed to card was pickednup by USPS. Yours might change soon too.

Mine just changed as well and it gave a tracking number. Guess our cards were in the same batch :-)
