I only have my I-797 approval notice for the EAD, is tha4 enough to work on? My hubbys sister works for ICE and she says I can, but I'm sceptical.

I need the actual card right? How long did it take for you guys to get the card after you got the notice?

My status went from "new card is being produced" to "case is approved" and then nothingo. Im starting to think that the card won't be made since my interview is in a few weeks.

It depends on the employer though. Mine said they'd need a card and not only a paper notice

I got my paper notice only for AP and nothing on my EAD. Can I bring the AP notice to look for a job or even apply for SSN? Probably not! Online status says AP is approved and EAD remains case is received.. I don't know why I have no news with my EAD, it will be my 75th day tomorrow...

Update on my case:

- My EAD online status changed to "card has been approved" on Sep 16 and "card was mailed" on Sep 22. I received the approval letter on Sep 23 but not the card yet.

- My AOS status remains the same.

Update: I received the card in the mail today! So it took for me ~14 days between the online status indicating "card has been approved" and the card being delivered.

No change on the AOS

On 19th of september I got online notification on USCIS website that EAD card is being produced, than is changed to "case is approved" and they mailed notification for me. I got notification but still no card, 11 days left.

I have a question, for my AOS case I have status "ready to be scheduled for interview" , when they will eventually schedule it, will I be able to see the date of the interview on USCIS website?

Because they don't send me e-mails for some reason, though I filled it out in AOS forms.

I'd recommend doing it online (https://egov.uscis.gov/e-request/displayONPTForm.do?entryPoint=init&sroPageType=onpt) that was there is no confusion. A IO field a SR 30 days ago on the phone after being at 90+ days and "past regulatory timeframe", still not assigned, this one shows up as a "general inquiry". I filed another inadvertently with a Tier1 agent when I explained that I wanted to talk to a Tier2 to discuss my SR status, he said he couldn't see it and so filed another one, this was 20 days ago. It showed up as a service request on my status page, was assigned and approved same day (of course card wasn't requested for production until 7 days later but that is another story).

Bottom line, I wouldn't leave it to chance (USCIS personnel) to file a service request properly. I'd do it online with the correct terminology ("case outside normal processing time", "case past regulatory timeframe", "case approaching regulator timeframe", etc) so there is no confusion.

Thank you!!! I will wait until Monday and see if there will be any change and then i will do that too. I called today and the tier1 was the first lady that was so nice to me ever since i called uscis for the first time for my k1 visa. She explained to me that they are a bit backlogged and that their online programs are down too. But she told me since i'm not past the 90 days, i have to wait and if my status will not change then i can call again and they will open an investigation file for my case and see why i'm not approved yet. :dancing:

Yes this is the problem with the call center, call 10 times, get 10 different answers / results. If you challenge them on anything they say, instead of investigating and figuring out they are wrong, they just tell you to make an infopass appointment.

Here is your justification: https://www.uscis.gov/forms/tip-sheet-employment-authorization-applications-pending-more-75-days

Pretty explicit, no?

Again their objective is to do as little work as possible and get you off the phone as soon as possible. Now, I have run across a good one or two reps who do appear sympathetic and try to get as much information as possible, but this is not the norm.

Ap doesn't give you the right to work. You can still look for work but since you're still not allowed to, be careful on what you say to your prospective employers and be clear about the waiting, if they decide to give you an offer. The social security office will want to see the actual card, a paper won't do.

I had to wait til day 91 to get my cases approved, and about a week or so to have my card

They will only send you electronic notices if you signed up for the myuscis case status thing on their website and ticked the boxes to get text and email. The g1145 is only good for the first notice, saying they received and that's all.

It's unpredictable when you're getting your interview scheduled, will depend on the field office and their workload and backlog. But when they set a date, the online status should change and show a date there. You will also get it by mail and need to take the letter for the interview (barcode they scan when you get in)

USCIS: Approved/Ordered for Production -> Approved/Ordered for Production -> Produced / Mailed -> Received

Hopefully you went from Ordered for Production -> Approved such that you know it was ordered right away. Otherwise, like my case, they waited a week after approval to order it for production. That was 10 days ago, 17 days since approval. Its a mess. I'd sign up for USPS so at least you know when its coming independent of USCIS. And from what has been seen, "Mailed" from USCIS doesn't necessarily mean in the mail. Welcome to the USCIS post-approval circus.

Wow!!! I did'nt know that it will be longer than I expected. Some people got their combo cards after a week of approval ? Can't wait to have mine too so i can apply my drivers license here. I thought I have to call Uscis since its been 11 days approved and my case is not changing the status. Well... i need to buy PATIENCE ?

Thanks anyways!
