This is going to kill me... haha I have been checking my status every hour since yesterday. So far, no update. Lets hope something happen by then end of the week. Congrats to everyone who got approvals and for those like me who are still waiting, lets cross our fingers.

I feel you. I just had a great interview last Friday. Now I'm just waiting for them to call me back with an offer. Would be great to have it the same day I get some good new from USCIS. haha

I have an interview in 2 weeks time, I would love to have my EAD by then!

I applied early for one job and phoned up the HR contact to explain the situation. Because of the nature of the job, the hiring process takes months so they said I should still apply which was pretty lucky. Good luck to everyone who is still waiting and congrats to all those with news!

You should start applying now because the hiring process in the U.S. can be very long especially if you shoot for any job that pays more than $12/h. Don't bring up your current status if they don't ask you. If they do, then tell them your process of becoming a permanent resident is about to wind up.

Hang in there...I work in HR and trust me...we wait for people we want!!! We don't like it but we wait. You have to wait anyways for someone to give 2 to 4 weeks' notice and it took over 2 weeks to interview people and the position was probably empty for a month before you even applied. That's why they're anxy...not because of your immigration status.

They just want you to start immediately because it took a while to fill the job, have already turned the other candidates down and don't want to start all over at zero especially since the hiring manager wants you. Just keep in contact and keep them up to date.

I've been waiting too since I don't want to piss off anyone if I can't start right away or there are problems but no harm in starting that search as it normally takes a couple of weeks to get your feet wet and start narrowing down on jobs. Since I work in HR I know how it goes: the position suddenly becomes available (someone quit, got sick or gave 2 weeks notice). The scramble is on the fill the job (which is why they want you to start tomorrow) but anyone good at this knows that anyone good they get will already be working and also need to give 2 weeks notice. (If someone doesn't give notice, I don't hire them as they will do that to me).

They will post the job for a week, sometimes sort the short list for phone interviews for a week, interview for the next week or 2 so you are already at a month out....so, go ahead and start looking. I have and have my first 'rejection letter' to prove it I don't know if its lack of industry knowledge (I'm from education and financial services in a very manufacturing state), or lack of relevant experience or no green card as of yet....its all really a big '####### shoot' in the end no matter if you're the candidate or the company. Just get in front of as many people as you can!! Shine up your 'international experience' card too....it helps especially if you speak other languages and that company has an office in your home country.

congratz to all who got their GC & EAD. Hopefully, I can get mine too at least first week of Oct. I have been attending job interviews and I am very disappointed when I got hired but can't start yet because my EAD is still under processing... Hopefully, all July filers will receive their EAD the soonest!
