Finally all three of my cases are showing up on Uscis case status!!! my number is MSC1691369xxx. (I-485, I-765 and I-131)

For I-485, it says they received my fingerprint fee.

For i-765 and i-131, it shows they sent out a mail receipt notice which I got end of July.

I hope this moves faster now as I haven't even gotten my bio letter yet.

When I applied to AP with my AOS forms I added a separate page explaining my reasons for AP (It says you need to put this on a separate sheet). I have no pressing issues right now to leave the states however, I put on the paper that I was applying for AP incase of a family emergency. That was my reason for applying for my AP and it was just for emergencies. It generally is best to try and wait until you get your green card until you travel out of the country, just to be on the safe side.

(Non-US ladies) Remember as well, If you're traveling on your passport with your maiden name and your green card is in your married name then you'll need to bring your marriage certificate as proof of your name change. The reason why is, your plane ticket would say your maiden name and your passport would too. However, having your green card in your new married name will flag up and they'll want proof of this change. Happened to my sister in law and I've read on forums here it's happened to other people. To some people it may seem like common sense but it's so easy to forget these things and then it's a pain in the ### at immigration. Hope this helps.

Hi there, Abbyerin, Thanks for the quick answer. Since my birth here in the USA, my last name was D'Amato, later we officially corrected it because I was the only one in the family with an apostrophe. Then later on I applied to get Italian citizenship reinstated, since my grandpa had the apostrophe in his surname, I had to legally changed mine. So, to make a long story short, I've had confusion with that my whole life. It looks like USCIS does not put "special characters" in surnames. Can anyone confirm that this is true or not? I'm just anxious to get everything done the right way the first time because it's time and money to change everything down the line. Crossing my fingers for your case as well!

Hello YorkshiretoAZ, I guess! yes! Do you mind me asking which area you live? I talked to a lawyer yesterday and he said it is normal that it takes longer time in some area. I live close to LA so no wonder why mine takes so long. There must be a loooootttt in the line lol

Los Angeles is a busy area. So is Houston, Chicago, New York, and Miami. I'm telling you this, but I should also follow my own advice: "Patience is a virtue!"

I've read somewhere that everything was bombarded this year because of presidential elections. Permanent Residents are seeking the right to vote, so that is also making the lines grow longer. Good luck!

Congrats to everyone whose case numbers start working or those having movement on their case. The person (pems) who reported getting a EAD approval message must have applied in June because he posted on June thread as well. So it means they are taking the usual 90 days for EAD.

For July filers, one more month to go before we can get our EAD.

I find the time moving faster when I don't check back this forum as often :)

Sent out package on 7/25 and I got my EAD and AP approved on 9/6! I requested to expedite my EAD based on job offer on 8/25 then faxed the offer letter and employer letter on 9/2, then saw online, status changed to approved!

BTW, my online status didn't work until 9/6. Before that, it showed the case number doea not exist. Even for now, my I485 status still not available so don't worry about that online status thing. It will be updated sooner or later.

So I just called to make a special Request on my EAD since it's been 75 days but they told me that their service is down and they will not be able to do it. However, the lady gave me a website and told me that I can make the special request myself and it's the same website where they make the special request for people too. have anyone heard about it? https://egov.uscis.gov/e-request/displayONPTForm.do?entryPoint=init&sroPageType=onpt

and did it work for you?
