The AOS process is one giant exercise in patience, patience and more patience. I am tapping into patience reservoirs I didn't know I had. Not only patience, but also a process of burning through our savings while waiting for the darn EAD! Good news though, I managed to renew my drivers license based on the Notice of Action documents. I was more that certain the DMV would refuse to grant me a drivers license (thus condemning me to a life of Uber and being driven around by my wife), but I was pleasantly surprised when I got a 1 year driver's license!

Still waiting for the EAD. Still expected to start my new job on 9/19. Still no change in my case statuses online. :( . I'm so clenched right now its not even funny.

Hello

I filed for aos on July 10 2016, from a k1 visa. At the time we did not file for advanced parole or work authorization. Got a number MSC169137xxxx. Did my biometrics.

End of August we mailed in the advance parole form and work authorization. Last night we got 2 text message stating they received the forms. There are two seperate MSC numbers.

Is this normal getting 3 seperate MSC numbers? When I put my aos msc number into the case status it says

"My case number does not recognize the receipt number entered, please check receipt etc etc" Is this the message everyone gets when the case isnt working?

Thank you

That is normal. I'm from K1 and have 3 separate cases. You need to check your cases regularly. Some people work but some not.

wow! I want to do the bio soon too!!! Did your case appear online first and then the letter came? or without updating online, did the letter come first? please share...

I wouldn't worry or stress about that so much. Did you provide them with a cellphone number or email address? If yes your phone will let you know before anything else. Whenever you receive a text or an email you can go ahead and look up your case with the provided case number (msc....). Don't stress yourself about this too much. It's a long wait. The only case I have seen on here so far that was 1 in a million I believe took 63 days from applying to receiving a combo card in the mail without an interview, which is phenomenal.

Good luck and enjoy labour day weekend :)

They won't even swap my German license until I receive GC and EAD in West Virginia. I'm glad I still got my international drivers license and I also spoke to a sheriff here and he said it's totally fine to drive with my German license. But it would've been great to swap the license throughout the waiting game because I wanted to get my trucking license.

I honestly think it was a very generous slice of luck. I took every single document under then sun. I met a very charming DMV officer , I turned up the charm offensive as well, and muttered a prayer, and left with a new drivers license. Just go from DMV to DMV location. I was twice denied a renewal earlier last month.

For me, I received the online update and e-mail that I had an RfE and then 6 six days later received the letter in the mail. I think they say that if you don't receive the letter within a month then you should submit an e-request online. We sent back the evidence and it was delivered a week ago. I haven't heard anything since so am hoping we will hear soon as I'm not patient! Good luck and I hope you get something in the mail shortly!
