NOW I KNOW THEYRE ON MY CASE. I JUST NEED TO GET THIS LETTER!!! AND FOR SURE EVERYTHING'S GONNA FLOW SMOOTHLY

I'm happy to finally say that the status today finally switched to NEW CARD IS BEING PRODUCED!!! I'm so glad to see the finish line after all this struggle! well at least there will be no more of this

9/3/2016: Received Interview Notice for registering as permanent resident in the mail on 10/5/2016. (Text message received on 9/5/16)

9/21/2016 : Status change to "EAD card is being produced". received text message.

10/5/2016: Interview for AOS. Approved for Green Card! (interview lady was thorough)

10/5/2016 1pm:Text message notice "New Card is Being Produced" for Green Card.

10/5/2016 3pm: EAD mailed to me

10/5/2016 9pm: AOS / GC approved

10/7/2016: Combo card received

10/13/2016 : Green Card received

Ain't it funny now how worried I was in July?

I had my biometrics done earlier today. I went to the Elizabeth NJ office. Everything I read about the Elizabeth USC is true.?? I was there from 11:30-2:35 my appointment was 12nn. When I got to the receptionist, I have my appointment letter and ID. On my ID I still have my maiden name while my USCIS letter I had my married name. The lady asked me "you got married?" I said yes. Then she asked for my Marriage Cert?? I told her, I didnt think I needed to bring it because on the USCIS bio letter it states you only need to bring the apointment letter and ID. I also didnt think I need to show my marriage cert because obviosly I am here to adjust my status to a GC holder because I got married!! (duh) Then she said, You need to talk to my manager. Boom she brought me to the mgrs office, who was on lunch from 12:00-1:00, so I waited outside her office for 1 hr. There were 20 of us waiting for her. They went by what was on my ID which is my maiden name. I asked the supervisor what name will appear on my ead, greencard etc. now that on my biometrics they changed it to my maiden name. They gave me no answer :( I think I just have to wait and see.. I will keep praying. That's my story..oh, try the empanadas right across the office OMG amazing!! :) all the best to everyone!

Unfortunately, they're right. It goes with any legal documents like when you get a drivers license etc. You have your ID with your maiden name on and the marriage certificate is proof of your name change. Without that they aren't able to take your word. If your name on your passport is 'Jones' and then you say "Oh no, it's Smith", they need to go on whatever your offical Identification documents say. I'm sorry this happened to you. Have you called up USCIS to see what to do?

07/28/2016 - Package delivered very late as was delayed somewhere in transit

08/09/2016 - Text and email notifications starting at 12.41am (texts came first and then email).

08/12/2016 - Get 3 NOA's in the post with the filing date 07/29/2016 and the NOA date 08/05/2016

08/19/2016 - Get biometrics appointment letter in the post. Scheduled for 08/29/2016 at 1:00pm

08/29/2016 - Biometrics appointment done - quick and easy!

10/13/2016 - EAD and AP approved!
10/27/2016 - EAD status updated to "Card Mailed To Me".
10/31/2016 - EAD/AP combo card received in mail.

02/04/2017 - I-485 case status goes straight to "Card is being Produced" (Approved without interview). 

02/06/2017 - I-485 case status changes to "Case Approved"

02/07/2017 - I-485 case status changes to "Card was Mailed to Me".

Received notification for "request for initial evidence". I am waiting to get the letter to find out about what is needed :-(

Dont be sad.. Youre not alone. We just need to comply right away. Too bad for me Ill be away from home this week for my hubby's birthday. I wont be able to know if my letter's already delivered at our house.

08/04/2016 Both checks are cashed

08/09/2016 Received NOA1 via text for I-130 & I-485

08/11/2016 Received NOA1 hard copy via mail for I-130 & I-485 (I-765 is rejected, forgot to sign)

08/12/2016 Mailed I-765

08/13/2016 Delivered at Chicago Lock Box

08/15/2016 Picked up at the Chicago Lock Box with signature confirmation

11/03/2016: We had out interview in Los Angeles CA. Our IO said they don't normally approve on the spot anymore and she gave us a paper saying "your case is being held for interview". The IO also said she is new, therefore she need to talk to her supervisor. Additionally she showed us a pile of cases that is being held for review, so it looks like it will take a while to get an answer about our case.

11/07/2016: EAD card was mailed to me

11/09/2016: EAD card received. Applied for SSN, needs verification will take up to 4 weeks.

11/10/2016: went back to SSA office with my unexpired passport, got verified right away.

11/10/2016: SSN card received

12/28/2016: I-485 status updated to "New Card Being Produced",later in the day updated to "Case was approved"; I-130 status updated to "Case approved"

(1 month, 3 weeks & 4 days after the interview) & (5 months & 2 days after filing AOS)

1/03/2016: Receive I-797 approval letter for I-130 & I-485; status updated to "New Card Being Produced"

1/04/2016: Welcome letter received; status updated to "Card was Mailed"

1/06/2017: 2 year green card received :D
