Thought I'd share my timeline thus far. AOS from H1B. Wife is USC.

7/8/2016: Fedexed application package

7/11/2016: I-485, I-765, and I-131 received by USCIS

7/14/2016: USCIS

accepted the fingerprint fee for Form I-485

7/23/2016: Notice for Biometrics appointment for 8/11/2016

8/5/2016: Successful walk-in for biometrics in Birmingham AL :dancing:

10/28/2016: EAD card being produced

11/03/2016: We had out interview in Los Angeles CA. Our IO said they don't normally approve on the spot anymore and she gave us a paper saying "your case is being held for interview". The IO also said she is new, therefore she need to talk to her supervisor. Additionally she showed us a pile of cases that is being held for review, so it looks like it will take a while to get an answer about our case.

11/07/2016: EAD card was mailed to me

11/09/2016: EAD card received. Applied for SSN, needs verification will take up to 4 weeks.

11/10/2016: went back to SSA office with my unexpired passport, got verified right away.

11/10/2016: SSN card received

12/28/2016: I-485 status updated to "New Card Being Produced",later in the day updated to "Case was approved"; I-130 status updated to "Case approved"

(1 month, 3 weeks & 4 days after the interview) & (5 months & 2 days after filing AOS)

1/03/2016: Receive I-797 approval letter for I-130 & I-485; status updated to "New Card Being Produced"

1/04/2016: Welcome letter received; status updated to "Card was Mailed"

1/06/2017: 2 year green card received :D

I'm happy to finally say that the status today finally switched to NEW CARD IS BEING PRODUCED!!! I'm so glad to see the finish line after all this struggle! well at least there will be no more of this

It might be worth a try to call USCIS and ask if it is possible to speed it up because you have a job waiting. Others here might know better, but it doesn't hurt to try

I also got an app that will let me know if my case status changes (just search the app store for "USCIS case status"). Now I only check online a few times a day :rofl:

You can expedite the process if you fall under uscis' acceptable reasons of expediting..

Even military spouses like me have a hard time expediting unless our spouses are gonna be deployed soon. In that case we need to have their deployment orders.

Also, since you have a job offer. You could just call the congressman's office to help you expedite your process.

yay! I just got my biometric appointment letter today :) Aug. 15 and it was sent Aug 2.

Yes, still same timeline for both of us. I got my biometric letter monday, Aug. 8 and my interview is tmrw, Aug. 15. Good luck to you and to all of us!

Hopefully we'll get the combo card soon. :dancing:

just had a call back from USCIS the guy I spoke to couldn't find any of my receipt numbers in the system, I now have to email the lockbox at Chicago and ask them if my receipt numbers are correct and he then told me to wait another week to see if my biometrics appointment letter comes in the mail......I will not be impressed if they have lost my case already :/

just had a call back from USCIS the guy I spoke to couldn't find any of my receipt numbers in the system, I now have to email the lockbox at Chicago and ask them if my receipt numbers are correct and he then told me to wait another week to see if my biometrics appointment letter comes in the mail......I will not be impressed if they have lost my case already :/

Hello, people I am wondering what to do after biometrics?

Will EAD come on my post mail without notification?

Now you wait. Next step should be approvals for ead and AP, if you filed for them. You should be notified by mail and electronic notifications if you signed up at uscis.gov

Remember it can take around 3 months from the date they received your petition. Sometimes it can be faster or take longer.

Also you can get a rfie or rfe, if anything is missing.
