Hey all,

my interview was this morning and I'm a little confused about everything.

We got asked a lot of questions about how we met, when we started dating, parents and sibling names, past jobs and present jobs, who attended the wedding, how he proposed, if I got an engagement ring and other basic questions, nothing tricky.

We answered all these questions with no problem.

She also asked my husband (who's American) when was the last time I left the country and for how long and unfortunately he got both answers wrong, I guess he was nervous and didn't really took the time to think about it.

She took a few seconds only to look at the pictures I brought but didn't really showed interest in any of them.

she got annoyed when we both answered questions, and told us things like "im asking you" or "let her answer"

She asked why we don't have a copy of the lease or tax return, which I had to point to her that she was literally holding them in her hands but her desk was so messy, she wasn't really looking at the documents we brought (plane tickets to vacations we took together 3 years ago for example)

We are both 28 and we don't owe anything (car or anything valuable) and she made it seemed weird we don't own stuff together.

we don't have a joint bank account because we never needed one and that's definitely seemed like a red flag.

she said it looks suspicious and that if we don't trust each other enough to share our money maybe our marriage isn't real, which I completely disagree with! It has nothing to do with trust! We just don't have the need for one yet and will probably end up having one when we start a family.

She then asked my husband how much I have in my bank account and he said the truth, that he doesn't know for sure, and again she made it seemed like it was something weird, and asked him "so you don't care and you guys don't talk about money?"

the whole end of the interview was about money which was pretty frustrating to me.

at the end she made some copies of a few pictures and that's when she actually started looking at them. Her face changed a little and she relaxed and then said she needs to review the case and that we would get an update later (when, I have no clue) and that if I do get a green card it would only be for 2 years, etc

im very afraid that this joint bank account can be the reason why we're denied, and I'm very nervous at the moment and frustrated we couldn't talk about other things (like all the birthdays and trips we took together)

she kept our tax return and gave me back the copies (I noticed it once we left) she was so messy she mixed all the originals and copies...

anyone else had a similar experience?

how long do you think I'll have to wait to get an update?

:( sorry that you're frustrated and that your process is stressing you..

I read your issue hours ago and I was at a lost for words, at that time I had just left the federal plaza for an infopass Now that I am home and settled in I think about what your going through and although I can't relate to your reasoning behind not having a shared bank account, I do relate to the weary process and how stressful it is and how antagonizing it is to have reached so far and go through the interview and still unsure.. I hope it is resolved in your favor soon.

Hey Marianne A,

I think you should not be too worried, i had almost the same experience.. We didnt own anything at the moment, we dont have a joint bank acct, im in the car insurance but i forgot to bring it to the interview.. But i had proof that im in his health care insurance, apartment lease and i brought a lot of pictures together with his family and friends

i got approved

I think the only thing she could do now is to ask for more evidence of your relationship..

Here's an update on my case...My PD is July 26th. My Case status hasn't changed from Finger print fee received - August 3rd.

I did two case inquiries and they claimed to have been responded to, I got no email, no mail nothing from them.. So scheduled an infopass. Attended the infopass yesterday and as the officer looked my case up she responds well they just sent out your immigration interview letter. So I was stumped. Then she printed something out that had my name and my husband's name, our mailing address with no interview date, but the current date. We asked her what our date was, she said she couldn't say but we would get the mail by friday or early next week. I expected to get a status update on the app.. Nothing. (yes I kept checking).  I then called uscis after a couple of hours to confirm, they forwarded me to tertiary level.  When I got the call back, after identifying me, I was given a date of May 30th at 1.30pm... The case status does not work for me, and it is annoying.  I guess I will just have to wait until I get the hardcopy to be sure.... with all that I have read, I just cant take someone's "word" for it.... I wish they would just do better.. they say sign up with case status but it doesnt work, not for everybody...  This has been the most stressful journey I have ever come across.. N I hope I live to see the end of it...

Hello everyone! last month I got my conditional green card and I have 2 questions now.

1. On my green card under the category field it says "CR-6" , isn't it "CF-1" is for fiance visa adjusters? (which I was)

2. Me and my husband moved last week, should I provide new address to USCIS? is it easy do it through their website?

I can only answer number 2..

To change address is easy, https://egov.uscis.gov/coa/displayCOAForm.do

However, I don't think you are required to do so since your case is complete.  If I were you, I would just put the change of address when I lift the conditions.

Mine is "CF1"...
