Yeah, it never even changed to "Ready to Schedule for Interview." At least all is good and the mail arrived. I spent five hours on Tuesday getting all of the documents they require for the interview (as listed on the letter). Now we just have to wait for the date!

By any chance has anyone left the country with the Travel Document USCIS approval card since Trump became president? Just wondering since we are still waiting for the green card and my wife is going to her country at the end of the month. It's a little scary because she is going on her own and coming back within a week. Just visiting her family. Thanks!

Yes I did it. I came back at January 31st with AP from Croatia without my husband. Our daughter was with me. I didn't have any problems. When we landed at JFK I had to go to their room and wait to be paroled.

I did twice actually. On my own, without spouse.

 

1st time In Boston it all took like 30 mins including secondary, no questions asked.

2nd time in NYC (JFK) two weeks ago - they detained me for about 3 hours with no explanation, searched all bags, took my phone, wallet and all papers from the bag, inspected them for about 30 mins and asked a lot of basic questions and then just smiled and said - welcome back like nothing happened...

So you never know... 

 

I'm going to China/Hong Kong in few weeks for a trade show but I'll never ever enter US through JFK ever again.

For people complaining about the wait, keep in mind that people in Houston, TX wait 11, 12 months from filing to interview. No need to complain.

Tara, I beg to differ. This is the one place that people just like us have to voice their concerns and let things off their chests. For those of you who have not yet noticed, the USCIS Processing Times website has been updated the day before yesterday (Wednesday, March 8, 2017).

They now list, by field office, the processing times as of January 31, 2017.

 

Check yours out at https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/processTimesDisplay.do

 

Hope this brings you some good news and you can start to see, if even a flicker, the light at the end of the tunnel!

My point is that the waiting from other locations may not be that bad compared to some locations. So when July filers know that many people applying same time with them but wait longer than them for interview, it will give them perspective.

Just to let you know it's not an EXACT science. My field office, West Palm Beach, FL, listed, as of Wednesday, that they are processing I-485s as of July 11, 2016. Our priority date is July 20, 2016. So, see, it's not black and white. Sometimes there is some grey in there!

Does Houston only have one office? I lived there from 1997-2000 and know it's a huge metropolitan area with a large number of people from all around the world. It's hard to believe that only one field office could handle all of that volume! No wonder they're so backlogged.

10/11/2016 Text received from My USPS with tracking number stating that an item was accepted today by the post office in Kansas City, MO. (No change on myUSCIS case status.)

10/12/2016 Text received from My USPS stating that item was delivered. Checked mailbox and EAD had arrived.

10/12/2016 Status changed for EAD (I-765) to "Card Was Delivered To Me By The Post Office."

10/13/2016 Went to local Social Security Field office in South Palm Beach County to request new Social Security Card. The DHS verification system was down and was unable to immediately verify employment status.

10/20/2016 Social Security Card arrived in the mail.

03/06/2017 Received letter dated 02/28/17 from USCIS for Initial Interview on 04/06/2017 in the West Palm Beach, FL Field Office. No change in online case status.

04/06/2017 Attended interview at West Palm Beach, FL Field Office. Approved!

04/06/2017 Online status for I-485 changed to "Your card is being produced."

04/06/2017 Online status for I-485 changed to "Your case is approved."

04/07/2017 Online status for I-485 changed to "Card Was Mailed to Me."

04/10/2017 Received I-797s, Notices of Action for I-130 and I-485.

04/12/2017 Permanent Resident Card received by Priority Mail.

Here is a copy of our Form I-797C, Notice of Action received on Monday, March 6, 2017, REQUEST FOR APPLICANT TO APPEAR FOR INITIAL INTERVIEW.

I'm posting this so that you can see the list of documents needed and also who must attend the interview. Hope it helps!

07/28/2016 Three emails and three text messages received approximately at 12:30 a.m.

07/28/2016 All three (3) checks cashed by U.S. Department of Homeland Security

08/01/2016 NOA1s received in the mail for I-130, I-485, I-765 (each dated 07/26/2016)

08/06/2016 Received Biometrics appointment for West Palm Beach on August 15th. The letter was dated 07/29/2016

08/15/2016 Went to Biometrics appointment at West Palm Beach (in and out in 20 minutes)

09/15/2016 Texts & E-mails received stating that 'Name was Updated.' (They had left out an apostrophe in our last name.)

09/23/2016 Text received. EAD (I-765) is being produced.

09/23/2016 Text received. EAD (I-765) is approved.

09/29/2016 EAD (I-765) approval notice received in mail.
