Hello everyone,

Sorry for not being very present here. School and work take up most of my time leaving me with the little I have left to spend with my wife. I just wanted to post here and update that my wife who filed back at the end of July, finally received her approval notice today, with no interview. We should receive a notification of the green card being mailed soon I think. If I'm not mistaken, our next step after she gets her green card is to get her SSN Card updated to remove the conditions off of it. Other than that, I think it is moving on with life and not forgetting to renew the green card in a few years. It has been a great help to have support from the people on this forum and I wish the best for everyone else. I will try to poke my nose in from time to time and offer my own contributions to help others as well.

Congrats and wishing you all the best in life. ✌

I went to InfoPass in NYC to ask about my case. Last update is "Fingerprint fee received" on July. The immigration officer was very nice and said that my case was just assigned this week to someone in Arizona (???). I asked "Why Arizona?", and she said that some of the officers work from home and take files with them. She also mentioned that it says my interview is waived, however, she seemed confused about it because she said I-485 always have interviews (I mentioned that I interviewed abroad when we filed I-129F but she said it doesn't matter).

Is it common that the case is being assigned to a different state? Should I expect to hear back soon now that it was assigned to someone?

Hopping over from the March filers (although I'm a left-behind 2015 filer), but my case is also in Arizona for no apparent reason (it has so far been through Missouri, Florida, Louisiana, Missouri again and now Arizona, meanwhile I am in California). The only thing the IO told me was that when interview is likely to be waived the case can be processed "wherever" because you don't need to appear in person.

I think USCIS sadly exercises their "We have 90 days to take action" rule, it'll all depend on whoever is adjudicating your case. Sometimes faster, sometimes slower.

What does it mean? Do IO have 90 days to take action once they are assigned to a case?

I think IOs have unlimited time to take action. However, they usually want to adjudicate as soon as a decision can be made. USCIS considers the 90 day rule as the timeframe for normal processing, and you might not be able to put in a service request until it's been 90 days of last action (such as case transferred).

All in all, wouldn't worry too much! If your case is with an IO, you'll hopefully receive a notice soon (hopefully a decision!)

Wow that's a miracle because after your long year wait you finally have a response. I'll drink a glass of wine and say a prayer of Thanksgiving.???????

My aos was approved already!! I went to my interview alone because my husband is deployed. Although i have his orders on the day of the interview i still got a rfe after the interview: they told me to send them a letter from his commanding officer.

After i send it they immediately approve my case.

So if ever your spouse is in the military deployed, dont forget to bring their orders and a commanding officer's letter with you on the interview!!!
