What about someone who came on B1B2 (B 1)left and d spouse got married to his in her country outside us. After marriage came in on B2 to visit the wife . Went back. The wife also went to d country again visited her hubby. Then the hubby came in on B2 again to see his wife and then File AOS. U think interview cant be waved base on there history. Filed AOS after 1year of marriage

Lots of luck to you guys. We called today to inquire because we have been waiting exactly 5 months today since they received our applications and petition on July 20th, 2017. Please note that Erick came from Spain on a the Visa Waiver Program, we got married and decided to file State-side.

Technically, I CAN put in a service request, but it would be of little use, because it is considered to be within the normal processing times. The USCIS agent referred me to their website's Processing Times by field office. Each office is supposed to update its information on the 15th of each month, so that is why it's important to look at the "Last Updated On" date, found just under the table on the right-hand side.

The EAD made the biggest difference in our lifestyles, as that led to employment, a SSN, and a driver's license. So we have no choice but to wait our turn, but we ARE together and he's allowed the above-mentioned privileges.

Adjusting status from K1 Visa.
We sent in the I-485, etc. in July 2016.
We did NOT send in an I-693 because we didn't have the medical stuff from the examination they did in Tokyo. (She received many vaccinations there).
A few days ago the online case status changed from: "We received your case and are working on it" to: "Your Case is Ready to be Scheduled for interview"

Three questions:
1. Does this mean no RFE's regarding financials, etc.? (My income fluctuates but my wife has substantial cash assets far above 5 times the poverty rate which we listed and attached bank statements.)

2. Does this mean they have my wife's Medical Packet and we don't need to see a civil surgeon? (We never sent in I-693 because we don't have the medical stuff. We thought it was in the sealed packet she gave at arrival.)
3. I'm in Western, Massachusetts (90 miles from Boston, no clue where our local interview office would be). How long should I expect to get notice of interview?

You still can get rfe, even after interview. You're only off the hook when you have the green card in hand. They can still request a new medical as well if they think it's necessary.

Your field office should be the Lawrence MA one. But you can check it on the uscis website

We were approved at interview today! The interview itself was 10 minutes long and all he asked were the questions on the I-485, what each other's jobs are, what our families names were and where they lived.

He asked for some photos so showed him a few different ones from various dates like our wedding, honeymoon etc he asked me to name my wife's family members in each photo and that was it ?

I received my GC in mail last friday. My GC was approved after 5months without an interview! Never been more happy

Hello all:

My husband and I went to our green card interview today at the Fairfax, VA, office. The interview lasted one hour. We were asked about how we met, when things "got serious", when we got engaged, who was at the wedding. We didn't answer with specific mm/dd/yy, but rather in general terms, as we aren't much for celebrating anniversaries (anniversaries of the wedding - yes, anniversaries of meeting, or getting engaged -- not so much ). We handed over our holiday photo card (a good idea), proof that he is on my medical insurance, co-signed car loan, etc. We were asked all of the I-485 "yes/no" questions. We were asked for his divorce certificate from previous marriage, my divorce certificate from previous marriage, my most recent tax filing (I file late every year ), his sealed medical records and immunizations. At the end of the interview, we received a notice of interview results with a "reason for continuance" saying that our case is being held for review. At this time, USCIS does not require any further information from us. I'm not quite sure what to think. My husband and I think that the interview went well. He is Syrian, and it may be the case that the interviewer's supervisor needs to sign off, or that there is an additional background check. In any case, I will write an update to VJ once I hear of the next step, for other July 2016 AOS filers who may be in the same situation. Courage, everyone!
