We got the text that we were approved last Friday, the 797 notice in the mail Thursday, and greencard in hand today. That's the fastest anything had happened for us. Good things are coming people!

I'm happy to finally say that the status today finally switched to NEW CARD IS BEING PRODUCED!!! I'm so glad to see the finish line after all this struggle! well at least there will be no more of this

they will only make you apply for one i.d... and when you apply for the permit they will make you take a test right away.. smh.. in the state of ny you are asked 20 questions and you have to get 14 right... good luck...

We took my wife to the DMV and got her learner permit. We schedule for the road test in Jan, the earliest they have available.

Have you talked to the tier2 officer yet? I couldn't access this website yesterday so I was just reading everything. First of all, congratulations with your approval! :) but sh*t that you have to worry about this problem now.. There's always something :( and its such a hassle to get a clear answer from someone. I hope it's not that much work, to change the name

first of all thank you.

i made an info pass appointment for Tuesday, but i was afraid that may be to late. so i called uscis, the rep told me i needed to file form I-90, i said i am not trying to replace my card, i just simply need the name changed. (I-90 cost 365 + bio, and i don't have that kind of money , besides i just got my card approve ), anyways i told i want to speak to a tier 2, she didn't like that, you could tell on her voice.... so finally i had my call back and i got disconnected... grr i hate it when that happens.., so i called back and again talked to a rep, at least he was helpful about it all, he transferred me to a tier 2, well had another callback set up had to wait for 90 minutes.

in the meantime my husband and i had to do business in the same area so we just drove thereto try to do a walk-in, right before we got there i got my call back. the tier 2 asked me if my application was still pending or not, i said yes and no and started to explain the situation. he said let me look into that and asked me the identification info, he said i got good news for you , as of yesterday your card is in production and i would get my card in about a week, also he said and the name on the card is what i wanted. and he congratulates me. so i thanked him and told him that i am worried that my card will get revoked because of the form I-407and not having the right name on it . he just told me you are getting your card, and it will not get revoked because of that, that form is simply for my record. but if anything gives me problems with my card to do an info pass in the new year.

so that kinda eased my mind and just have to wait now

should i cancel my info pass appointment now or should i still go to it ?

thanks tara, but am not gonna get my dl just yet. never in my life had i had a drivers license, hence i never needed one. i know its all different here as far as getting to where i wanna go, and that time will come, but like you said i will enjoy my family.

But i think i will go to my info pass on tuesday just to make sure for future reference, hence i want to apply for the citizenship in 3 years, and dont want no bad info on my records when the time comes.

We got our notice in the mail today (12/2) Then a few hours later, a text saying our card was mailed, with the tracking number.

Today marks a month since our I-485 interview, I checked the USCIS processing time for the Los Angeles CA field office at https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/processingTimesDisplay.do and its says:

I-485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status April 14, 2016

does that mean processing the cases that are already interviewed? Looks like more wait for me.

11/03/2016: We had out interview in Los Angeles CA. Our IO said they don't normally approve on the spot anymore and she gave us a paper saying "your case is being held for interview". The IO also said she is new, therefore she need to talk to her supervisor. Additionally she showed us a pile of cases that is being held for review, so it looks like it will take a while to get an answer about our case.

11/07/2016: EAD card was mailed to me

11/09/2016: EAD card received. Applied for SSN, needs verification will take up to 4 weeks.

11/10/2016: went back to SSA office with my unexpired passport, got verified right away.

11/10/2016: SSN card received

12/28/2016: I-485 status updated to "New Card Being Produced",later in the day updated to "Case was approved"; I-130 status updated to "Case approved"

(1 month, 3 weeks & 4 days after the interview) & (5 months & 2 days after filing AOS)

1/03/2016: Receive I-797 approval letter for I-130 & I-485; status updated to "New Card Being Produced"

1/04/2016: Welcome letter received; status updated to "Card was Mailed"

1/06/2017: 2 year green card received :D

that isnt the time for processing cases that are already interviewed... that is the time for the ones that are to be interviewed.

Does anyone know why I don't seem to be getting online case updates?

I got a phone call to tell me of a forthcoming RFE and the letter came a few days later. Sent it back within 3 days but now, weeks later, there still has been no update to my case online. All other cases including K1 were updated almost immediately whenever anything changed.

my case status updated to approved today , also i received my welcome letter and approval letter today...

But no production yet, even tho the tier 2 told me it was in production since dec. 1st
