Hi everyone,

got taken completely by surprise last thursday when my case was updated to "interview scheduled" (Aug 4th) at the denver office. Surprised because Denver are reporting processing cases for june 2015 and we only file 28th sept 2015 so we weren't expecting anything until November .

Most of everything Evidence etc is already in files but there are a couple of questions i hope someone can help me with .

In my initial application we had a joint sponsor as my wife was a student. Now that my wife is earning above the poverty guide line (for our family of 4) and i'm working as well we want my wife to be sole sponsor so to release our joint sponsor of the responsibility. My wife has filled in a new I-864 and is getting a letter of employment from her boss but do we still need to get from the original sponsor her last tax filing and her letter of employment/contract?

Also i had the initial medical with Knights bridge for the K1... I have read many conflicting letters on here as to whether i need to get a medical with a civil surgeon here.. My medical was june 17th 2015. Do i simply get a civil surgeon here to look at what Knightsbridge gave me and have him/her sign off on it for a nominal fee or do i have to pay hundreds of $$$ and have another medical . I am really confused about this.

Also i sent with the intial I-485 application my original police clearance certificates from both the u.k. and South Africa and only made photo copies of them. Now they are asking for originals or certified copies to be brought to the interview. Whilst i could probably get another original from the u.k. Africa being africa there is no way i can get another original in the next 3 weeks . Shouldn't they have the originals ? and wouldn't copies be ok. I know it's my mistake that i didn't get certified copies at the time but i was trying to keep my costs down.

Any help on any of my questions is greatly appreciated..

Im excited and nervous about the interview.

Best wishes,

phil

Take a new I -864 filled out by wife as you said. She can even add your income and proofs. Read the instructions to know how that words. Put a photocopy of your EAD with your employment evidence to document that you are legal to work. don't bring any update on the joint sponsor because you want to drop them anyway.

Medical--just wait and do what your IO tells you to do. They all seem to have a different slant on it, so whatever your guy says goes for your case. Even if he says new medical, you go get it and it only delays you a couple of weeks. Better than spending money on a guess.

Your already submitted originals will be in the file.
