Dear all,

I would like to know what is the best way to send my AOS packet. Should I use a binder and folders? Should I include additional relationship evidence? (Photos etc.). And should I mail my husband's pay stubs and bank statements?

Happy 4th of July and thanks for advising me!

I organized my documents and paper clipped them. Then i mailed them in a cardboard envelope that said do not bend. We over nighted them to the Chicago address instead of lockbox.

Yes include as much evidence as possible. Pay stubs, w2s, photos, tax returns. I included signed statements from my sister in law about our relationship too. Any joint accounts, medical insurance and leases are great. Include as much as you can.

Good luck with your journey.

When filing initial I-485 AOS from K-1 Visa you do NOT have to send any documentation showing Joint Bank Accounts, Joint Lease, Joint Utility Accounts, Life Insurance, etc. Just send the requested information and documents in the I-485 instruction's, you don't need to front load like you did with the K-1 Visa I-129F application.

It's the AOS interview that you will bring these other documents

Mine--

Priority mail which includes tracking. (Flat rate light cardboard mailer)

No to binders. Remember it's three separate applications AOS/EAD/AP so I put a paper clip to hold each with it's separate evidence. I put the stack of papers in an old file folder just so I could squish them together and shove in the mailer easier.

Whatever evidence you have of income needs to be behind the I-864. One tax return/W2 or transcript required. Optional is extra tax years, employer letter, six months pay stubs. I did not use bank statements because I didn't list my assets on the form for consideration.

No evidence of "marriage" except the marriage certificate.

That was sufficient to be approved without RFE or interview. If you interview, take that evidence to the interview.
