Happy 4th July everyone!

I'm just preparing the paperwork for AOS and i have a question about the filing fee.

I know the form I-485 application and biometrics fee equal $1070 (is this correct?)

But when i am preparing the money order or check, do i make out two separate checks for each of them, or put one total fee of $1070 on one check? and what are the exact fees for each?

Also, my husband and i forgot to get more certified copies of the marriage certificate (i asked for one extra which i didn't even receive) but i now know i needed more. How do i go about getting more certified copies even though I've already received the certificate? and does anyone know the cost?

You can make out one check for the $1070. As to additional certified copies of the marriage license, you have to visit the locality office where your marriage was certified, usually the clerks office of the city, or county where you were married. You may be able to do this online, but that depends on the office, however, you should be able to get them fairly easily. It is always a good idea to have a few extra copies.

Good Luck!

Probably will need to go to court house for certified copies. We were abel to go to DMV and we also went ahead and had 6 certified copies done. prices vary, call ahead or use internet. Broward county advertised :"Costs of the copies are $5.00 for the first copy and $3.00 for each additional copy."

The check doesn't have to be separated, clip to title page with list of contents in package.

Are you filing for EAD and advanced parole as well?

Thank you for your responses and help!

Yes I am filing for the EAD and the advance parole too. So do I need a certified copy for each of those too? I was under the impression that I did after seeing people's examples of cover pages on here.

I just hope I can get hold of the certified copies fairly soon because we are wanting to file this week.

For our successful AOS/EAD/AP submission for my wife (K1) and stepson (K2), I submitted one (1) check in the amount of $2140, and a copy of our Certified Marriage certificate with each AOS application.

YMMV,

Good luck on your immigration journey.

When my husband applied for AOS/EAD/AP in January, 2016, he submitted one original marriage certificate. Some folks who submit a copy of the marriage certificate have reported that they got RFEs requesting an original while others were approved with only a copy. We didn't want to risk an RFE, delaying the process further so we opted to send an original.

Good luck!!!
