I don't understand the women ... that is for sure. No way will I share my husband with another woman.

As for the government paying for the kids and providing the house, it seems to be a catch22. The provide and they are taking money from hard workers to do so. If they don't there is no guarantee that the parents will get jobs, they may still just stay home and then the kids are not taken care of which of course increases crime rates. If they let the family live off the government then this is what the children learn and the cycle continues. I won't pretend that I have the solution since I certainly don't.

Rebecca, if you show them the article, they will then just say that he came here to take a good job away from an American ... some people are just that way.

Not at all. He is. The problem I have is on advocating the use of forced sterilization on chopf#ck.

Jeez, that pees me off. When I worked in real estate, 6 days a week, over 5 hours every week, I worked out that I'd be financially better off if I stopped working, had a baby and lived off the state. I think that's shocking.

You can't force people to be a certain way, but you could say "we'll only support you whilst your kids are under the age of four" and "there will be no additional funds forthcoming for the fourth child or beyond". That would cause people to stop and think, if nothing else.

I think the bottom line is that a social wroker should have intervened much earlier, acting as a counsel for these guys and educate them on family planning - before they had such a number of offsprings.

Beside him, these women could have opted for birth control as well. It is too little too late, I think. I feel sad for these innocent children.

A good approach, I think, is to have the education system plays a role in informing high school students on matters such as health, sexuality and family planning. This was the case in my high school and all high schools around the country. I believe that this approach was quite succesfull. And it was not a forced upon tactic, with which I would have completely disagree.

Problem is he prolly WANTED all the kids, or he may belong/ be part of a belief system which discourages abortion and/or birth control (side note: Ive run into this before where 'the church says abortion/birth control is wrong' but they seem to conveniently forget the part about 'no sex out of wedlock' - he has a lover as WELL as a wife; so now the lucky tax payer has to pay for his brood.

yes..its better than seeing the kids starve IMO. You can't punish the kids because their father is an irresponsible moron.

I don't know what the solution is - as Satisfaction says you can't force sterilisation on people - that opens the door to eugenics.

Better sex education? yes, always but who's to say they'd make different choices even if they WERE better educated. I can't believe they don't KNOW that unprotected sex = babies. These aren't teenagers, they are adults, and they've made concious choices.

Personally I'd LOVE to see how this guy managed in a country where health care and benefits weren't so freely given - try finding a house or houses for your over-large family without subsidies mate and see how far you get.

Its a shame his FATHER didn't wear a condom really...

It's kinda the govt's fault cos they perpetrate abusers of the system everyday.

There are girls in England whose only dream is to grow up pop out a kid & get a council house. It needs to be a little harder than that!

I knew of this girl...young mother & all...she was working off the books for a little extra cash while taking benefit. Only worked very part time tho....prolly just for some beer money, lol. Anyways, why was she on benefit? COS SHE MADE MORE DOING NOTHING RATHER THAN GETTING A JOB. Her answer was....why should I work & lose that cash?

Long story short, she actually got turned in from someone....the council wound up giving her more money...gave it in a lump sum...so yep, she promptly quit her job.

When you compare this to politicians wages etc it is a drop in the ocean. How many kids does Blair have? and how many rooms do they have each? The same goes for the opposition(sorry i forget the names of politicians).

The big problem is the state and it is not a left right red blue issue. It is not immigrants or even chavs. The problem are those at the top who do not create a society of equality. They do not even try to. Sure this guy has many negative points but i don`t think people, on the whole, aspire to be on benefit. I think many girls(chavs if you like) simply have low expectations of life. They meet a guy and have kids. They don`t decide whether to take that job and travel the world because it is no there for them.

The man has some good qualities i would say. A large family has it`s appeal and whilst you might not agree with his values and don`t believe he should get benefits. You should perhaps look at the root cause of this rather than just suggesting extreme measures. I know these calls for castration and vasectomy etc may be slightly throw away and comedic but on a serious note i think that is the wrong approach, and a barbaric one at that.
