Hello:

So I sent all documents to NVC and tan I received a checklist about my I 864. It said though that I have to correct it and send it to the immigrants (my mom and dad).

The way I done it:

Part 3: For dad's case:

I listed him as the principal immigrant and than listed mom as an accompanying immigrant.

Than in line 28 I put (2) for both my mom and dad.

For mom's case:

I listed her as the principal immigrant and than listed dad as an accompanying immigrant.

Again in line 28 I put (2) for mom and dad.

The way NVC wants it:

Each immigrant has his/her own I864 without listing the other as accompanying immigrant because each one of them has a separate case.

Here is where I get stuck:

for the line 28 I have to put (1) because only 1 immigrant is mentioned. Am I supposed to put (1) part 5 line 6 even though they didn't immigrate yet?

The reason why is the household size will be 1 person less if I don't mention the other.

Thank you for having the time to read my question and help me with this problem.

hi

each of them have their own affidavit, so you treat them as if they were the only one to immigrate

they aren't derivatives, such as a married siblings with children, if you petitioned a brother or sister who was married, their spouse and children would be listed as accompanying

but it says there don't list anyone who is filed on a separate petition, so you will list only 1 person on each i864

even though the form will have one person less, immigration will link both cases, so theoretically, you still have to have enough income to cover everyone

plus you only pay for 1 affidavit, since it's per family group, and you will use the same cover letter with the bar code for both affidavits, so both cases will be linked
