Hi VisaJourney Users,

Here's my question; Did any of you have to deal with your parents or in laws not taking your relationship or marriage seriously? Or parents or inlaws disliking your partner or spouse?

My Case; I'm dating a Mexican (Who's in Tijuana, and has a B1/b2 visa) and his mother thinks I'm the guy who turned her son gay and refuses to acknowledge that I exist or that her son's dating a man.

I'm curious to hear your stories.

Happy Early 4th of july!

Thats her issue, not yours. Ignore her.

However if your boyfriend has never shown any interest in men before, and now suddenly has a USC boyfriend... well... that may be different.

But in general, many people are far less accepting of the fact their children are who they are vs who they want them to be. Nothing you can do about it but be supportive to your SO.

You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose.  - Dr. Seuss
