Pre-Departure Seminar - Typical Philippines

Visa delivered in hand yesterday, July 2nd. After delivery we knew about the pre-departure seminar requirement. I figured this was easy. HA !!

Went to the online place to sign up for a class for her and they didn't have any openings for 2 weeks out. So I signed her up for the earliest.

Here's the kicker. She went to the seminar this morning at my request to see if there might be a 'no show' at the seminar. A no show meaning 'an opening' for someone who is there wanting in to take the seminar.

Sure enough there was 1 no show. She asked if she could attend this mornings' meeting and was turned down with an iron fist by numerous different people. In the States this type of thing doesn't happen. If there's an opening and they have room for someone that someone can attend a class. I know.....I use to walk into a class in college which was full and at the end of the first class go to the professor an ask to be added. I was successful in doing that many many times. But not Philippines.

Why are they such sticks in the mud about these things? Or is my fiancé too naïve and doesn't know how to play the system to her advantage? If I was as pretty as she is I could get anything I wanted !! LOL
