It seems most people get the notice that they received the RFE response in 1 week and the NOA2 in 2 weeks from the time you mailed it out - and that was our case too.. good luck!

7/1 - mailed I-129

7/7 - NOA 1

8/29 - RFE

9/13 - Notice received RFE reply

9/19 - NOA 2

10/12 - Called NVC & Received Case Number, Case Ready at Embassy

10/17 - Received NVC Case Number Letter in mail

12/2 - Interview (Denial, 221g issued asking more relationship proof)

12/8 - Additional Proof Submitted

12/9 - 221g issued again asking for more relationship proof (same items they asked for previously)

12/16 - passport returned to fiance in mail with 2nd 221g letter

12/23 - Additional Proof Submitted

12/27, 12/28, 12/29 Date updated on case

1/5 Passport Status changed to "passport being processed for delivery" CEAC status still says "administrative processing"

1/9 Passport delivered to hometown with VISA ISSUED!! CEAC status still says "administrative processing"

1/26 POE Seattle

2/25 Married (CEAC status still says visa is in "administrative processing" - haha)

Hello everyone,

I met my fiance online around May 2014. We took it slow. I visited her for 7 weeks in the fall of 2015. In late July of 2016 we decided we both both loved each other very much and that we wanted to start the process.

I filled out all the information for the biographical forms for both of us and the I-129f. I just had her sign and date the Biographical form and sent it to me with a letter of intent that she signed and dated. We also included a "How we meet and our story," from our different perspectives. She forgot to sign and date hers but it didn't look necessary from what I read.

I included copies of plane tickets, hotel stays, and about 12ish photos. Also, included the passport photos that were taken within a month. I wrote the name and address on the back of each one (I did 4 for both of us), and included those receipts too.

Everyone's story is a little different. They government is looking for fraud and that everything is legal (rightly so). I was a little worried about my case because I have had a few alcohol related incidents. I had to check the box and get copies from the courts. My last incident was over five years and I don't have any other legal history. On the positive our relationship had a decent amount of time involved and I stayed lived with her for 7 weeks.

My opinion is just make sure the paperwork is properly signed and dated. Be clear as possible about past addresses and work history. Neither one of us had kids or marriages in the past, so, not an issue I had to worry about.

If you have only been in a relationship a short amount of time, I would try and stay long as possible on your visit. Multiple visits are good too. But if your budget is tight I wouldn't worry about it, just take one trip and try to stay as long as you can. There are hostels or maybe your significant other has family you can live with. When you think about the immigration officers role, try to put yourself in their shoes. Is a receipt for every little thing necessary when you show receipts for plane tickets and hotel stays as evidence that you went and saw your fiance? I bet most officers just scan it super quick. They don't care you bough a snickers bar at the gas station. They just want to know you fulfilled the requirement of visiting your fiance in her home country within the last 2 years. I don't think it would make much of difference (besides wedding ring / wedding related purchases). Each officer probably goes through 20 + cases a day and has their process down to an efficient as possible system. Are the basic i's and t's crossed, signed and dated? Are both parties free from serious legal trouble and legally able to marry? That's probably the jist of it. If they have suspicion maybe they send an rfe and make the couple jump through another hoop.

Who knows, I am not an expert. Just my 2 cents. I only offer it because I read these stories about sweating an rfe and also sending 200+ pages. (And my special circumstance with the alcohol incidents) -no felonies- If your case is pretty straight forward, I wouldn't sweat all that. No need for extra stress. The wait is stressful enough! Just knock the paperwork out, add the evidence, letter of intent, extra paperwork you need for your case and, send it!

Good Luck to everyone and God Bless.

Yes, someone mentioned as it is a federal holiday, they will be closed, and that it may explain the slowness of approvals on Friday since many may have extended their long weekend

We were notified about the Rfe on 09/30 then we received the letter on 6/10 and sent the answer on 7/10.

We haven't seen anything yet on the app. It still shows Rfe mailed...sour we are still waiting.

But wonder if there are some people that got denied after an RFE was sent...? Just being curious, negative ...Haha.
