I'm shocked no one else seems to really have had issues filling out the DS-160... then the readiness for interview form (specific to London)... My fiance has been working on this since yesterday morning. I feel like a dad in the waiting room in the hospital smoking cigars waiting to hear whether we've had a boy or a girl, and the mom is still in labor after 24 hours! I feel like margaritas are much-needed! And it's still not over. Gaaaaaaaaah!

sorry... had to vent a little...

Someone else here mentioned they were getting a message saying the Visa wasn't ready to schedule an interview... Whoever this was, did you get it sorted out? Has anyone else had this recently? And where can I find the status of our K1 to see if it's in transit, reached the embassy, etc?

Allison,

You can check on your case at this following link: https://ceac.state.gov/ceacstattracker/status.aspx You put in your LND# to get the updated information. You won't be able to schedule your interview with London until it says in transit for at least 2 days (based on info from our UK forum).

What problems has he been having with his applicant readiness form and DS-160? I may be able to help.

Ah, ok... that's probably it, then. Today is the first day it has been "in-transit", so maybe we should try again tomorrow evening or Friday morning. Thanks, Kat!

Good luck! I hope you are getting that early date that you need!

Keep me in your thoughts for my NVC call tonight >< I just want that number! I feel like USCIS somehow figured out that Jon and I are planning to intentionally delay our peition so we can have an interview in January and are deciding to test my nerves and patience!!! So mean!

I think that was me!

My CEAC status JUST updated to In Transit- however when my fiance checked the AIS portal, it said our case still wasn't ready to be reviewed. I've been hearing it takes 24 hours before the portal lets you schedule the interview.

https://ceac.state.gov/ceacstattracker/status.aspx this site is what you use to check your case status once you have your Case Number. If it says "At NVC", ignore the instructions below- it takes you to a website with instructions that seem to be exclusive to IR-1/CR-1 cases. Just wait for it to update to "In Transit". I called and got my case number on Monday night 10/3, and my case just updated this afternoon 10/5.

I'm going to wait for fiance to wake up tomorrow morning and check again before he has work to see if he can schedule the interview, and if not i'll just make him check throughout the day. I'll keep you posted.

Haha the DS-160 is such a pain!!! i woke my fiance up at 6 to do it and it took him almost two hours. Asks you literally everything about your life, it's worse than a job application.

I'm annoyed that the applicant readiness form doesn't email a confirmation once you've filled it out... i accidentally submitted it twice because i thought i'd hit backspace instead of "submit". winner.

I mentioned that once they gave me the Case number and my status changed to: "In Transit', I got a generic message telling me that my interview date was provided by the NVC.

However, that was just a generic message. It really goes by whatever process each embassy has.

There was another forum/blog that I found that told me how to track the package on DHL from the NVC to the embassy.

http://www.k1-visa.net/Home/After-Filing-the-K1/TRACK/DHL-Tracking

EXP 05 OCT 2016A (this is the format you have to use to track your package). Once the Embassy receives it, It takes a few more days (usually 2-3) to change to "ready".

ha! This worked like a charm! Thank you!

Although definitely do that step where you change your EXP ## to the day BEFORE today. EXP 05 OCT 2016A didn't work, but EXP 04 OCT 2016A did.
