I haven't gotten anything yet. Another person whole filed in June said she did. She said it can take 2-4 weeks per the NVC. But honestly, you don't need the NVC letter. Just call and get the no. 10-11 days after approval and then check your status on the NVC status check to see when it leaves and arrives at the embassy. Congrats again and good luck.

Hi everyone!

First time posting here but I've been following along to see if our case is on track. Our case just arrived in the Jerusalem consulate and we're super excited! We are kind of confused on how to proceed and would appreciate any insight.

1) Should we wait until we get Packet 3 before we fill out DS-160? Should we wait to schedule an interview or can we do this without the Packet.

2) Do they automatically send Packet 3 to my Fiancé based off of the application address listed or do we have to give them an address specifically?

Thanks for any help!

I saw your timeline and it interested me because it is almost the same as mine. The NVC numbers are the same. Our packet said it was "ready" on September 16th. I filled out the D-160 and am in the process of compiling all forms. Did you receive a letter from your embassy? I was told I need to bring that letter to the medical appointment and am worried that I might not have it in time (sep 28)

Every country is different, but from my understanding the medical wants to make sure you have the NVC number.

You can print the NVC ceac page that says your case is 'ready' and it should be suffice if you haven't received the letter yet.

I would contact the place your medical is taking place at and ask if that would be enough. London has been very responsive to us, I hope yours is just as well!

You are right. Your timeline and mine are somewhat similar in terms of the duration of activities. However, some embassy specific requirements ensue. Our case was "Ready" at the embassy on the 17th. At that time, we were able to download the payment instruction and make the payment. Without the downloaded PDF instruction, the bank can't accept the payment. This doesn't seem to be the guideline in Nicaragua. Then after the payment, it could take up to 2 days to update the system and allow you view the interview calendar and pick a date. It only took about 11-12 hours for us to be able to do that. And by the way, without the letter from the embassy (sort of the packet 3 with instructions for the interview), they say no one can be allowed in. We observed almost every beneficiary of K1 visa in the last 2 months from Ethiopia received that letter 6 weeks from their NOA2, so it behooved us to schedule it 5 weeks away which will allow the letter to arrive approximately 2 weeks before our interview. You can visit the Nicaraguan portal here on visa journey to seek more help, or wait for the letter since it sort of implied that you must wait for the letter to proceed.

Our packet is also on the way to the embassy in Sydney. Do we pay for the MRV after packet 3 arrives? Or before so we can schedule an appointment? I'm a little confused about the next few steps since so many country specific things have been thrown around, haha. Thanks!

i have responded to your question in June filers but, i am fairly sure you pay on the day of the interview which is $371 AUD.

All is country specific at this point. In fact, in Ethiopia, they want to see you have a visa appointment before you can do the medical. I guess it's sort of a way of being fair to those who are scrambling to get the medical done before a fast approaching interview date. So no proof of visa interview date? No medical. As for police clearance, they don't care if you have an appointment. Good luck to you in your quest.
