Did anyone else have a front loaded application? I'm really curious how long it took people with larger applications to receive approvals.

Our app was around 100 pages... I went a little overboard with examples of emails and text conversations, but I was "front-loading". Now I feel I did too much, but really only in that area. We only sent in 4 or 5 photos. But we have yet to receive our approval, and it seems from what others here have said so far is that the smaller apps are receiving approvals faster. That hasn't been strictly proven as of yet, but seems to be what some have noticed here. It could just be coincidence or there could be something to it. If those who have received approvals could list how many pages (rough estimate), then that could help. Even if that does show some pattern to prove one way or the other, it's all still speculation.

My file is small, I never do a lot, always just the necessary stuff and not too many, I can imagine how somebody needs to go through 200-300 pages, I wouldn't like it. Sorry, no offence intended

Tasha

I completely understand and for me, no offence taken. If the process is the same or similar to what it was when someone on VJ interviewed that former USCIS adjudicator, then it's a numbers game. They want to crank out as many as they can in one day. Family visas are easiest because they can get 2 or 3 completed in the time it takes them to get one K1, so it seems to be a safe assumption that if there is a stack of K1s on their desk that they'll go for the smaller ones first in order to get through a lot in one sitting. But maybe not everyone works that way. Who knows. :\

Edit: But I will say that I assumed most K1 packages were about the same size as the one I sent in. The example photos I had seen online looked to be about that thick (I have a photo of mine in my profile here... somewhere), so I didn't feel it was too much... until recently when it has been discussed here about the amount of email examples, photos, and text examples sent in which made the petitions smaller.

I didn't notice faster approval for small files, mine is small, I didn't include any chat, all official forms 5-6 photos together but printed on 1 piece of paper, only one additional was my waver explaining I am filing for the same person within 2 years and my medical record release maybe 2 pages as me being very sick, we didn't go to the interview, the 1st time. Copies of my passports, visa, stamps, fly tickets and my military ID I sent the copy this time, I am retired but trying to say with it, guys, love me please, I am part of the gov. service, please, approve me, lol! That's it.

The size of the application don't really matter as long as you cover all holes and important information. :content:

I don't believe the size of the file have anything to do with the speed of files getting approved. Let's say your file is stuck behind a very large 'front-loaded' file. How much longer can that file take really? 20 min? Half hour? Let's say an hour, or longer but probably not longer than two. Even if you are stuck behind five of those somehow, your file gets pushed back a day, not much longer.

And sure, maybe the person has a quota so avoids that large file that may happen to be yours, but even then I don't think they can do that for a whole week since it is in their stack and needs to get done anyway at some point.

I don't know, I only speculate with the rest of you here. To pass the time :clock: . Looking at the recent approvals and NOA1 dates and countries, all I have really figured out is that it is all a crapshoot. And that we are all stardust. :jest:(L)

My is not too many but not as little as others. I heard a lot of people have to little proof, once they approve their case here then consular officer will give a hard time during interview because mainly they look at proof when our case come to their end.

I knew one person grill by consular officer during interview, because they didn't provide much information. So I rather wait a little longer to get approve here and approve during interview. That is what I heard from people who went through K1, don't get me wrong.

Haha! Fair enough. Good point... if a typical file, whatever typical is, takes 15 minutes, then perhaps you're right that a larger one may only take 20 minutes or half an hour more. And yes, it is all speculation. But dang it I wish they'd hurry! We have things to do and people to be with!

Maybe I should clarify... I am actually doing things haha! In fact I'm at work... being cheeky responding on VJ. I blame the holiday weekend... my attention span is nearly gone.

"We have things to do and people to be with!"

Exactly!! Don't they know that? Haha.

Sure I am doing things too, and hanging out with people but it is not the same :(

Oh how I loved the long weekend.. this one is plain annoying, how dare it come right in the middle of July getting approved?

But it will be fine, time will pass and this will all soon be a distant memory.

Lots of luck and strength to everyone waiting!!

I really don't know that it has anything to do with the size of the file... my file was big.. it was big the first time too - when we were approved in 4 weeks.. no issues.. I sent the exact same file again - now this time they want an RFE.. so I think it has to do with the person reviewing the file...

7/1 - mailed I-129

7/7 - NOA 1

8/29 - RFE

9/13 - Notice received RFE reply

9/19 - NOA 2

10/12 - Called NVC & Received Case Number, Case Ready at Embassy

10/17 - Received NVC Case Number Letter in mail

12/2 - Interview (Denial, 221g issued asking more relationship proof)

12/8 - Additional Proof Submitted

12/9 - 221g issued again asking for more relationship proof (same items they asked for previously)

12/16 - passport returned to fiance in mail with 2nd 221g letter

12/23 - Additional Proof Submitted

12/27, 12/28, 12/29 Date updated on case

1/5 Passport Status changed to "passport being processed for delivery" CEAC status still says "administrative processing"

1/9 Passport delivered to hometown with VISA ISSUED!! CEAC status still says "administrative processing"

1/26 POE Seattle

2/25 Married (CEAC status still says visa is in "administrative processing" - haha)

it usually takes 15mins for a straight forward case for them to review , most cases that have a good amound of evidence will be 100 pages at most ,300 or over just sounds insane

I am sorry to hear a lot of you are still waiting and truly hope next week is your week !

For those who have been approved around 26th August, we have emailed the NVC and they have told us that they're yet to receive our files. Please by all means call but we are thinking by September 10 we should be fine to call or email back.

How does everyone know it only takes 15 minutes to review a file? I'm just curious because I've always been under the impression that it must take a lot longer than that.... But I've never seen it discussed anywhere before that's always just been my assumption
