I wish to start living the real life, I wish this waiting time be over very soon, I wish to all of you, my friends, the real life with your beloved ones starting.

Praying for us all being approved very soon

Tasha

Amen! I hope so too. It's reasons like this long wait that causes people with legal tourist visas to just immigrate here with intent to marry and just marry their loved ones and adjust status (even though considered "illegal") rather than go through this painful K1 process. Smh.

CRamak, can you please update your timeline as it helps people filing around your time and even people filing after you have an estimate of where they are in the process. It breeds some optimism, expectation and hope. Thanks.

I am loving that we have a resident expert, thanks Tasha!

I have been fiddling with the apps and I found out that the uscisapp with the vertical flag only does not work well on the iphone, that's why I have been getting a uneven pie chart with dates all over the place. On the other hand, I discovered the other app has this excellent time-killer, anxiety-stroking super fun feature where you can enter a receipt number, enumerate a bunch of files coming after it and see the number of rfe, approvals etc. as a bar graph.

Gosh I need this approval to come quick.

I have an iPhone and I've been so bummed out the flag app doesn't do much of anything. But now that I know I can put in general numbers in the other one, I can fiddle with it! Thanks!! Edited by tortugarouge

yes, I am crying sometimes thinking why we are not together, why borders where it's the real love?

Tasha

You are certainly not alone in this sentiment. It's frustrating and sad, just because we weren't born in the same country as the one we fell in love with, and that there are those who do take advantage of the system and commit fraud... that those few ruin it for the majority of us whose intentions are pure.

That feeling that life doesn't begin until we're with the one(s) we love, and yet life has the audacity to continue around us while we seemingly sit in stasis. It's maddening to say the least, but we go through it and put on a brave face because each day is one day closer.

It's of course normal to have days where you just feel defeated, but soon this waiting and worrying will be a thing of the past. Keep up your strength! I hope we all get through this as quickly as possible.

I feel your pain of waiting for your life to start. It's a rough journey. But the best part is the longest wait is over and it's a question of months! Here's hoping we start to see NOA2s soon. :)

It's cool your app!

I am down from yesterday, depressed, I hope our month starts getting approvals and moves fast, LDR (Long Distance Relationship) is not easy, waiting sucks, paying for the process and waiting sucks, legal immigration sucks, it's difficult, confusing, expensive and waiting and in waiting time every day chat not enough words to express yourself, repeating the same words about love for so long time, waiting ...

I was as a volunteer helping in Florida to immigrants and I did see many cases when illegal immigration went faster and more easy, legal immigration should be much more easy and faster, reuniting the families should be a fast process, people miss each other, some people gets frustrated, some sick and some even die in the process, it's not fair ...

I wish all families, and people in real love to be reunited very fast and start living their lives, not waiting

Tasha

Really Tasha. This really sucks. LDR sucks. WhAt keeps me alive is the idea that I'll have my love in my arms soon. Be positive.

Hello everyone K1 Visa NO1 was on July 5th.I know that this would be a wait but it seems as if it is forever. So I decided that if I can find someone that is also waiting for Nigeria Embassy. Preferably a female that can help me learn how to cook some Nigeria meals can give me some pointers just so that I can pass the time this is too stressful.Want to learn to cook his way

Good morning everyone :) Met my fiance when I was on my J1 visa last year. We filed our K1 on July 13th and received our NOA1 on the 19th. Its only been four weeks since then but I've been clicking and staring at the USCIS screen at least once when I wake up and when I go to bed. and for some reason I've been feeling a little bit more anxious and slightly impatient the past two days, so much so that I couldn't even focus despite the workload at my workplace. I think I'm going crazy any minute!

K1 Visa Journey!

California Service Center

13 July 2016 - sent K1 petition

25 July 2016 - NOA1 letter (notice date 19 July 2016)

31 August 2016 - NOA2 approved! (USCIS website)(43 days from NOA1)

10 November 2016 - K1 Visa interview APPROVED!

AOS Journey!

23 February 2017 - sent AOS + EAD application

27 February 2017 - NOA text and email

7 March 2017 - NOA letter

10 March 2017 - biometrics appointment letter (scheduled for 23 March 2017)

11 March 2017 - RFE letter

Tasha is right about her ideas and suggestions. Also nigerian friends can also teach you how, if they are committed friends. Learning most Nigerian dishes may not always come out right using cook books and online resources. It may but not always. Practicing with a friend is better and also my advise. But if you have none, then online resources will definitely be a start. Saying this as a Nigerian who can cook Nigerian delicacies and also lived in Nigeria for almost 21 years. #naija?
