So I am just going to rant a little more, sorry, utterly frustrated. What makes me angry is that they transferred us on September 27th to Vermont from Cali to 'speed up the process' but processing times in Cali as of September 30th were less than 5 months and Vermont was backlogged. Why send me to somewhere backlogged to 'speed up the process'?! I won't be able to get answers now because they're not technically behind in processing so I feel absolutely hopeless. We've already postponed our wedding date from January until March but I know if I reschedule again we're going to lose out on so much money in deposits. Ugh.

*End Rant*

Sorry, just have to get it out somewhere. Seems like no one else understand what the waiting feels like.

I can imagine how sad it is, and more when you see others being approved or moving forward.

I'm sorry this is happening to you. Just hang in there, don't give up, it will come. Be strong.

yes it is normal for them to keep your passport, they have to print the visa in it and then mail it back to you.

I think the time between the medical and interview varies by embassy... some it's only 1 day, for UK it's 5-7. They will put you in AP pending medical, it should only be a couple day delay.

Good luck!!

Is it normal that the case was put in AP after the fiancee was told that she was approved and should receive her passport in a couple of days?

The case status was changed from No Status to Administrative Processing after the interview.

The interview went great and she was congratulated and said it was approved...

Should I be worried?

Everyone is put in AP, from 1 day to up to 1 year. Our regional discussion forum has a thread with timeframes of interview -> visa issue, yours might have a similar thread.

Thanks! Does it change when it gets sent out?

I checked there isn't one in my region.

I guess I'll keep waiting.

Fiancee was interviewed on 11/28 and was approved *with a minor hiccup*.

For questions asked during the interview, see the review here: http://www.visajourney.com/reviews/view-dos-cis-reviews.php?entry=20963

The hiccup: After the interview was done and approved, we were so happy and we had a very nice lunch. Went home at around 2pm and wanted slack off and watch some netflix for the rest of the day. Then fiancee's phone was ringing and she picked it up. Turned out to be the embassy! The clerk who called had little to no idea why she was calling, mumbling something about finger print not being taken. And asked fiancee to be at the embassy by 4pm to finish up the process. Now fiancee was in panic mode and we dressed up in 5 minutes and rushed out and catch the first subway train available. An hour and 15 minutes later at 3:45pm, we arrived at the embassy. The waiting room was empty and the CO who interviewed her came to one of the window and greeted her. She said "I guess I forgot to do something this morning. Can you raise your right hand and swear that the things we talked about this morning was true?" Fiancee said yes and was asked to take her left hand's fingerprint and that was it. The CO forgot to do the oath before commencing the interview in the morning! We felt relived and exhausted after waking up early and rushing to the embassy within 90 minutes. But at least nothing bad happen, right?

As of the writing of this post, the passport is being sent to fiancee's address. I guess this is the end of Chapter 1.

Thank you everyone for the encouragement and help. And good luck to those who have not reached the goal! (F)

Wow!! Omg what a thing ! Hahahah ! At least it wasn't something like " why were you here this morning again? " ?????!! Congratulations!!!

Im at my embassy at the moment , to get the medical form to take to the doctor for medicals, and the checklist of what I should bring to the interview( packet 3 I guess? ) lol... and only after that I could make the appointement for the interview. Yes, I have to do everything by myself, even the medical results I'll have to bring them back by myself the day of the interview.

Yup!

Yes! Very different !! They take scanned financial documents (affidavit, letter of intent, pay stubs....)!

And they told me, when I have everything ready, the docs and medical form filled and signed, I should just go any Wednesday morning...I don't need a date..I was like what?..hhahah...I'm just hoping the CO will be as nice as the ladies that I spoke to.

Until 10am there was NO other applicant...I guess they don't deal with many K1 visas over there !!

So I'll do my interview in two weeks. That's where I am so far

I am sad and still waiting.

My fiance had the interview yesterday, we have it all so well, I checked all documents myself in my last visit, he had his interview apparently well, all is well and then, at the end he was given a letter saying ... I can't believe it's important! So irrelevant question but here is the delay, he needed to send them the copies of my info, my small private web design business craigslist adds and description about web design, the letter says send this information together with your passport and the visa will be issued in 10 days, if not in 10 days, please, call. And all these questions are just because we said we met in Facebook talking about the web design which is an absolute truth and I even designed the website for my fiance real estate job, he mentioned that. And here we are, they are curious about if I am really designing. Who could predict that?

Yesterday my fiance was depressed saying to me "bad news", I needed to be strong and tell him it's such a minor info they are asking, it means we are approved in everything, everything is good, they just want to know about my designs and it's good they will know more in details, later for green card will be more easy, I was trying to explain to him and to keep him well.

I hope we will get the passports with visa stamped back very soon, I hope in 1-2 days.

Here waiting, hoping and praying again

but I understand him, bringing the less than 2 years baby with him, cheap hotel, medical and waiting for the interview, half a day at the embassy with the baby in his arms and getting out with nothing, this letter, rushing to call me, ask me for my designs info, printing, sending by dhl and all of it tired with the baby in his arms, not eating, very stressful and tired day for him was yesterday and still waiting, he is still worrying so much what if ... I say the letter is good as it says send the passport together with the info and providing the info we give you visa, it's good, I know, but my fiance still can't believe it until he gets the visa, not easy for him, now still waiting in that hotel, not working and waiting together with the baby. I hope the embassy will process us fast
