I was allowed in the interview! My name was on the list even though we never received an email confirmation. I left my large suitcase at Excessive Baggage in Charing Cross station. I was allowed to take my backpack into the embassy. Everyone was super nice! (Ceisenbruch, I tried to look for Alex but there were so many guys who looked tall but no one really stood out to me.) Robert was approved... Sort of. They have to call ACRO to confirm the info about the No Live Trace on his UK police certificate ( something that happened when he was 15, that never went to court and was filed as a reprimand). I asked the lady when we could expect the visa even with them having to make that call. She said that we could expect it in 1 to 2 weeks. Oh, and I was asked questions as well haha!! So yes aside from the fingerprint scanner malfunctioning which made us have to stand there for about half an hour at the first window, it all went very smoothly!! Yay!!

YAY!!!!! Congratulations!!! He's on his way to the U.S.!!! So happy for you guys. Finally this part, at least, is over. :)

They wanted to see my passport. That's all. The questions were: what do you do for work? When were you and your ex husband divorced? Where do you live

He was asked: how did you meet? How did that meeting transition to this point in time? When did we meet in person? Robert said I had been to visit him 5 times. She asked that back to him to confirm. That was it. I was allowed to be there during the interview. She didn't ask me to step away though I tried not to get involved in the process until she asked me questions directly, which surprised me. Now it's just waiting for the visa. So strange, this feeling of being so close! So surreal.

Congrats to everyone on their interview success and progress!

Fiance got her visa in hand just 10 minutes ago. Luckily our envelope was A-ok. I was a bit worried about that due to a recent post I saw where they got a torn-up envelope in the mail.

Now nothing to do but wait until December 18th.

Totally surreal. Alex said they moved him through so fast he didn't wait for anything. He walked straight into the embassy through security, they called his number the first time about the minute he sat down, then he woke me up and we chatted for like 30 minutes before he was called up for the interview. He was approved, but he has to send in his birth certificate because he accidentally brought a copy instead. But he's already gotten the email with instructions to send it in so we're hopefully still on track for a flight the first week of December. I'm so excited!!! And so happy!!! What a journey lol

This is probably a dumb question, but do we still check our case status on ceac.state.gov? Our status says "ready" and the blurb below it says "ready for interview..." But the last update was today (our interview was yesterday). Is this what others have experience Too?

My fiance is doing his medical tomorrow morning his time - this evening for me. Then his interview is scheduled for Dec 2nd - only a couple more weeks!.. if all goes well he will fly out right after it's issued! My question is.. he never received any packet from the consulate/embassy.. nothing.. it says our file is ready but they never sent him anything. The first time we applied he got a packet but this time nothing. Do you think it will be ok? I'm pretty sure we didn't need anything from it specifically. Just wanted to double check here before he heads to the interview.

Yes it will change as nine. It went from Ready to issued to AP to issued but keep eye on date of last update. After AP goes to issued visa is done and in delivery method according to your Emmbassy.

You can continue to use the ceac.state.gov to track the status until it says Issued. Once it says 'Issued' you can log onto the site that you used to schedule your interview , probably https://cgifederal.secure.force.com/ , and then you will get a status update on where your passport actually is and if its been shipped or not.

Sorry it's been so long since my last update. Medical paperwork slowed us down by a MONTH but it looks like we're back on track!

Interview at the London Embassy on Dec. 22! We'll miss what would have been our first Christmas together, but better late than never!

Ok so I cannot for the life of me figure out how to start a new topic in the Australian specific forum..... Can anyone help me with this?

In the meantime, I'm trying to get some information about how the consulate stage of this process works. My fiancé already responded to an email from the consulate requesting the following:

Case number (ie: SYD2014000000):

Email address:

Phone number:

Passport Number:

DS-160 confirmation number:

In response he received the following email:

Dear Applicant,

Thank you for being a valued U.S. Consular Electronic Application Center (CEAC) customer. Your electronic Visa application has been submitted.

Name Provided: XXXX
Country/Region of Origin (Nationality): AUSTRALIA
Passport Number: XXXX
Completed On: XXXX

Confirmation #: XXXX

YOUR CONFIRMATION PAGE IS ATTACHED TO THIS EMAIL IN A PDF FILE!

You must follow the instructions on the confirmation page in order for the U.S. Department of State to continue processing your visa application.

How to print your Confirmation Page:
1. DOUBLE CLICK on the attached file.
2. From within Adobe Reader, go to FILE and select PRINT

Please double check to see that you indeed have Adobe Acrobat installed on your system. If you do not have Adobe Acrobat Reader, you may download it for free at: http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html

***Important: Please do not reply to this email. This mailbox is not set up to receive email.

My question is, what's next? we paid the fee already, scheduled the medical for next week. Is this the packet 3? What is a packet 3 and 4? Is the next email they send going to inform us of his interview date? When do they provide him with instructions about what documents he needs to bring? We are so confused at this point. He hasn't heard anything else and I don't know what else I need to send him along with the affidavit of support documents.... I don't want to spend the money to send him that alone if there are other documents I might need to send him....

I know this is all country specific but I don't know where else to ask and all the info I find online is just confusing me more....

Congrats to everyone who interviewed. It's great seeing all these good news. Good luck to all waiting. Still here overseas and not always online as government internet data connection has still not been restored as it is a monopoly here. Fiancee rounding up with her license clearance so we can head out. Can't wait. ?
