Hi

I need soma advice. My fiancées co sponsor decided to give back word at the eleventh hour.

She has managed to find a friend to co sponsor her. That's the easy part.

The co sponsor lives with her son who's a senior at college. But the co sponsor and the co sponsors sister and her husband live in the same house. The two share the mortgage.

Does this mean the calculation for the I-134 is for 4 people who reside at the property or just the co sponsor and her son?

Any advice is appreciated.

I'm not saying that no one here will be able to answer your question, but you may get faster (and potentially more experienced) responses if you post this in one of the main forums.

Here are the questions you need to know. Does she financially support her husband, sister, and her son away at college. If the answer is no, then she would just show herself and your fiance. If any of those three don't work, which I am guessing the only one she would support is the son, then she would only have to prove income for 3.

So it would be the cosponsor, her son, and your fiance so she would have to meet the 3 people income requirement.

Hope this helps!

Hi

Thank you. The co sponsor is only responsible for her son. She does not financially support her sister and the sisters husband.

I didn't think my fiancé would be included in the co sponsors number in the household. The co sponsor doesn't include anyone but her son in her tax return

It gets complicated and confusing.

If you think about it, if you were to fill out the form yourself you have to meet the minimum income requirement for you and your fiance even though you didn't claim her on your taxes either. This form is used to prove that enough money is made to not let her become a public burden. That is why the co-sponsor has to prove enough income to support the 3 people.

I found it helps if you think of it as yourself showing what you need to make and that is why you will always include the fiance, again because that is the intent of the form.

I hope that clarifies it for you. I tried to explain, but it is a difficult thing to explain!

co-sponsor should go by her tax return, the rest is irrelevant

Hi.

I have also been waiting 4 months. It's frustrating. And when you call uscis for an update all they say is it's still within the 5 month processing time. If that's so how are people being processed a lot quicker. I hope you and I recieve positive news soon.

Didn't someone else have a similar issue? I think the difference was they had someone in the phone that wanted to help. They told the uscis officer other people with similar submission dates already received their notices. Maybe if it's not too difficult, to call again at a different time? I'm so sorry to those waiting so long. I trust it will happen!

I read somewhere that the USCIS office is not actually staffed with USCIS people but with outsourced phone personnel who have like 14 answers to choose from. Not sure how much of this is true but they were never able to give me any information when I called. Frustrating when other people, from the same country, who filed after me, have received theirs and then I get transferred to speed the process up (their explanation) but it is going just as slow. Ugh. What #######!!

Going on 3 weeks at NVC and still no case number! Sometimes it feels like the waiting will never end.
