Tell your fiance not to worry. My fiance was denied FIVE tourist visas.. we tried and tried for one year while I was settling back in the U.S. after living in India. Then we applied for a K1 and got it NO PROBLEM.. he had to return before we were married.. I think everyone here knows the story already... so we just applied again now and got the NOA2.. your fiance will be OK.. :) Tourist visa and Fiance Visa are totally different.

Oh no! 5 times is insane. Thanks for sharing, that might improve his confidence a bit but honestly he just expects the worst. But I will share this with him for sure :)

Dear July filers,

yesterday we received the notification of RFE!

I would have preferred directly the approval, but it is fine, RFE means that the final step for the NOA2 is very close!! We still have to receive the letter with the details of the RFE, I will update you next week.

I have read this blog since we filed the petition and it was a great support. I wish to all July filers to receive your approval by next week.

p.s. Tasha, we have the same timeline so I am sure the next approval will be yours!!

(Response from my fiance in uk)

I got my NVC number last week and haven't had anything sent to me from NVC or embassy yet, but I have completed everything and booked my medical and interview.

Good that you have police and birth certificate already. Make sure you also get the affidavit of support with supporting documents and an new letter of intent from the USC. Also make sure you have UK + USA sized passport pictures . You also need vaccination history from your GP to take to the medical, they should supply this if you just ask, make sure the Dr or Nurse sign and date it.

You can schedule the medical now you have the LND number, call up knightsbridge centre (020 7486 7822) they are open Mon-Fri 9-5. They will ask a few questions like- Name, DOB, phone+email, LND case number, date you want medical (isn't a long wait time about 7-10 days).

http://www.visamedicals.info/us-bring.asp - Knightsbridge website has all the info

I then filled out my DS-160 and submitted it online. You will need a USA passport picture for this. https://ceac.state.gov/genniv/

After that you can fill out your notification of readiness form and submit that too, https://uk.usembassy.gov/visas/family-immigration/iv-notification-of-app-readiness/

After that you can register, pay the visa fee (£204) and courier fees (£18). Then book your interview, there are dates available at the moment from 28th October. https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-gb/niv

Print out all the confirmations and receipts from the online forms to take to your embassy interview.

Any problems just message me.

Hi Tieary, what do you mean by 'new letter of intent from the USC'..?

Hi again guys!

How many early July filers are still waiting for NOA2 out of curiosity? (I don't think Igor's list is very accurate at this point)

My NOA1 was July 1 so this is getting extremely frustrating! I suppose it wouldn't help to call the USCIS, would it?

Hi Tieary, what do you mean by 'new letter of intent from the USC'..?

A new letter of intent to marry signed by the US citizen with a recent date. They want to make sure the petitioner hasn't changed their mind :)

Unfortunately it's pointless to call the USCIS before the 5-month mark. I'm sorry you still haven't received your NOA2! I felt like we waited forever with a date of July 6. You will get it. It's easier said than done, but don't let it get you down. It will come.

How long does it typically take a case to remain in transit?

I already know "Koko" in London signed for the package on Sept. 19! I guess she immediately clocked out for vacation after that! Haha!

That's weird!

Mine arrived in London, also signed by Koko, on the 21st but was 'ready' on the 23rd!

From reading other posts, I was expecting it to take 1-2 weeks for it to change.

Hi again Tieary, can I submit ds 160 when it says that it's 'ready' on NVC status? Or can I do it when it's in transit? I'm sorry for so many questions...I don't want to submit forms too early!

We submitted all forms and scheduled the interview while it was still 'In Transit'.
