How long does the actual process take at the service center for I-129F? So do these get handled by one person start to finish? Do any of these get moved ahead/behind in line for any reason? I have looked online but have but have not seen much about actual process. Thanks

The actual process of approving the i-129f is no more than about 20 minutes, barring any special circumstances, RFEs etc. Perhaps a little more if you include background checks etc.

However, the months you wait from NOA1 to NOA2 is the time the petition spends in a storage box waiting to be adjudicated.

From the time I filled out and sent off the I-129f packet (3-10-15 ) til the time my wife landed in Dallas from the Philippines (11-20-15) was a little over 8 months. We had no RFE's and there was about a 3-week delay for her medical. Back then we were assigned the Texas Service Center which had an extremely long backlog of cases. I believe all new cases are being sent to California Service Center which was taking slightly over 30 days to approve the cases. But it is my understanding that time has increased to nearly 90 days. I would expect at least 6 months for your case, assuming no RFE's or other delays. It may be shorter than that but it pays to be prepared for the long wait. I went pretty quick for TSC because there were some people who had to wait 9 months or longer just for NOA2. This time frame is for the entire process, not just for the i129f- from filing til arrival in states.

So if there is a RFE. Does application go back to end of the line? My fiancé visited me on tourist visa and we filled out application on last night of visit very quickly. I am hoping no omissions but possible

No. If an adjudicator looks at your case and determines something is missing, they issue an RFE, and the petition remains on their desk. You will normally have 90 days to respond. If you don't respond within the given time frame however, the case is considered abandoned, and you would have to start from scratch.

You should have started your own topic instead of hijacking another person's that is unrelated to your question.

You can also use the search function here to find that there are plenty of other same sex couples that have gone through the process over the last few years.

You cannot get a K-1 visa if you have not met in person. You must have met in person at least once within the 2 years prior to filing the I-129F petition to start the process. Research the form instructions and other info on the USCIS and Dept. of State websites.

What are the chances for same sex couple

The exact same as for a heterosexual couple.

As another poster mentioned, it's more polite to start your own thread.

As another poster mentioned, having given birth to kids may or may not put into question your sexual orientation and thus the bona fide nature of the the marriage.

It took 177 days (almost 6 months) from NOA1 to NOA2 for us. And we had no RFE either.
