I have EAD/AP combo card in married name. Passport in maiden name. Can I travel?

I called the airlines I am interested in. They said I should book my ticket in my maiden name so that it matches my passport.

However, when I am going through customs, I would show my EAD/AP combo card that has my married name. I would also bring along my marriage certificate.

Would my passport in my maiden name be a problem?

The airlines is correct, your name on your ticket should match the one on the Passport to travel via plane. On your way back at POE, they will let you in with your AP and the marriage certificate as a proof of your name change.

That is true, your name on the plane ticket has to match your ID you are using to fly. So if you are flying internationally, then it needs to match your passport. If you are flying domestically, you can use your name on your driver's license.

I would bring marriage certificate as proof of why name is changed.

I never had a problem with maiden name on passport.

When is your passport expiring? I did wait until my passport expired to change it.

This is fairly common and the posters above are correct, use your maiden name on the airline tickets and keep a copy of your marriage certificate with you for re-entry to the U.S. My wife has traveled several times back home and so far no one has asked to see the marriage certificate, but she keeps it with her all the time.
