Friends,

I came to the US on a K-1 visa. and filed for my AOS on Oct 23, 2015. After 3 weeks I went to my bio appointment and since then I haven't heard anything from USCIS. My case status on USCIS still says "Fingerprint fee was received"

Since I knew that my case is out of processing time, I called USCIS and told them my situation a month ago. The lady wondered that they haven't contacted me yet. So she submitted a case inquiry for me. and gave me a confirmation number and told me that they should contact me in 25 - 30 days. If not I should call them back and let them know that no body hasn't contacted me yet. Well, a month passed. So I called them again. And told them the same story. And they submitted another case inquiry with a new confirmation number.

Has anybody been thru this? Is this normal? Why should my case be out of processing time?

Any input will be appreciated.

Did you apply for EAD/AP? If so, did you receive the combo card? If not, maybe an infopass appointment would help.

Yes, I applied for EAD and got it in like two months.

You can also contact your congressman or senator. I did that and got an rfe the same day and approved 5 days later.

Thank you Wooderz for your comment.

Will do that.

Each local office has a different time estimate for processing AOS.

My local office say 331 days to interview.

Sometimes cases are shipped to different offices. Each case is different so ymmv.

You filed for AOS slightly before us by a few weeks, and everything that you have seen (it being stuck on fingerprint fee) is exactly the same as we had. It turns out our case was actually sent to a field office in a state we didn't live in (despite the USCIS telling us to the contrary). Since you've put in requests with no result I would suggest an Infopass appointment, or contact your senator or congressperson to get to the bottom of where your case is located. I can't say for sure, but chances are you were put in an interview waiver pile and they moved your case to a different office. If it has not been moved (and I don't know what your local office is) you'd have to see how far behind your local office is running, on the chance your case is in the queue but hasn't been looked at yet. You'll have to try your best to track it down, you will not get straight answers from the USCIS phone line.

Wow I am in exactly the same position as you..

I did my application early Oct (2015, adjusting from K1) and my status is still stuck on fingerprint fee received as well!! I am still waiting for my case inquire, it's been 20 days now...

At this point I am going to contact my congress man if they don't respond to me within 30 days.

May I ask where is your local office?
