IRS transcripts

Hi all, I have a question about IRS transcripts. Everything that I've read says the transcript has to be certified. I pulled transcripts online, but are these considered "certified"? Do I need to order something directly from the IRS? Thanks in advance.

Show me who is saying tax info must be certified?

You can simply photocopy your entire tax return and include the W2

Or order, download, get faxed to you---a tax return transcript from IRS

And London doesn't even require a tax return or transcript with an I-134 for fiancé visas. You could use another way to prove income. It's not as hard as you are imagining.

Well...this statement that appears front and center on the UK instructions on this site...

"Order your IRS Tax Transcript - Tax transcripts are an excellent source of evidence for your I-134 Affidavit of Support. They're CERTIFIED by the IRS. You only need the most recent one."

It was just a question, and the first one I've asked on this site to boot. You're obviously an expert with this stuff, but to those of us who are going through it the first time and want to get it right, it's stressful. I'm not trying to make anything difficult. Thanks for the info.

That means the IRS provides it so it's true, real, not faked. But no, a transcript does not have a certification stamp and signature like for example a marriage certificate would, nor does it need that. I thought you read somewhere a transcript had to be certified with an additional step.

Also thought you had found some decade ago instructions that said the tax return had to be notarized. Get your instructions here https://uk.usembassy.gov/visas/fiancee-2/applying-for-the-visa/

Sorry to have bothered and stressed you.
