Hi,

I am a 2 years conditional green card holder, I want my parents to visit me, they are Pakistani citizens and they have only 4-5 K USD in their account. I have a balance of $12K in my bank account and doing a good job here in US. Can i show my account for their visit and what document i need to send them for their application. is it a negative point if I show my funds?

please provide me list of all documents for their visit application.

Thanks

While I do not have a list of documents, I would like to point out that there is a misconception that you would need to "sponsor" a tourist visa.

It is your parents and not you that would need to show they have enough funds for the trip. Showing that you will pay for everything may work against them when they apply for visas. They need to show strong ties to their country which include things like a job, house, cars, strong community ties, etc. Immigration treats all visitors as possible immigrants and so they will be scrutinized accordingly. Nothing is wrong with financing a trip for parents. However you want to make sure it does not appear that you are trying to have them immigrate under the pretense of a tourist visit.

Good luck! :)

No point in you showing your funds, as the main thing is they need to return home, show ties to home, and you having a nice amount of money here doesn't help with that. The only thing you can do really is write a letter stating they can stay with you for free, and that you plan to visit X tourist attraction and show them around Y town, but even that won;t count for much.

Do they have any ties to home, such as good jobs, a business there, family they need to go home to look after? What can also help is if they travelled abroad before, say to Europe, and returned.

The application information is on the local Consulate web site.
