Mistake on my K1 visa in passport.

Hi everyone,

I had my interview Friday the 24th at the US embassy in London and I got approved. I have received my passport back with the visa yesterday however my nationality on the K1 visa is incorrect. I am from the Netherlands, but live in London. My nationality is Dutch but it says GRBR on my visa. Has anyone ever experienced something like this? How long did it take to get it fixed?

I would pick the reason for contact --

My inquiry concerns immigrant visas and is not covered by information on your website

--because it's the immigrant visa unit who issued your visa and has to fix it.

I would say any mistake on the printed visa is a problem that needs to be checked out. If you didn't think it was a problem, you would just use the visa as it.

My VJ friend Sharon from way back had the wrong passport number on her visa. She was instructed to contact the courier to pick up the passport and take it back to London. Sorry I don't remember the turnaround time.

Do you think it's advisable to call the couriers already or shall I wait for the embassy's response? I live in London so I did write in my e-mail that I could come to the embassy to drop it off.

Wait for instructions. I have never known London to accept drop-offs. People have reported showing up to drop,off their applications (when they were paper forms mailed in) and the guard outside refused and pointed to the postal box nearby. Londoners have sent bicycle couriers that were refused. But once you get a reply, you can reply to their email and ask.

Remember July 4th is an embassy holiday, so their response may be delayed some.
