Is it the checklists? Not sending documents or filling out forms correctly? How long did it take YOU to get through NVC and case complete?

My NOA2 was June 1st. My case is at NVC but no case number yet. Going to call next week :D

You and everyone else is wants to to know that answer for both USCIS and NVC. There is no rhyme or reason. I'll be calling NVC late this afternoon but I suspect I will not get an answer based on the NVC received reports on this forum.

Some people do deliberately slow down the NVC stage. Maybe the petitioner has recently started a new job and wants to wait a while before submitting the AOS. Or maybe they are struggling to find a sponsor. Maybe due to a personal or family issue they are not ready yet to go ahead.

NVC can be very fast in some cases. But it is possible to slow it down. Personally, I want it to go as fast as possible and have all my stuff here ready to go when the time comes.

I-130 filed: February 5, 2016

NOA1: February 8, 2016 Nebraska

NOA2: July 21, 2016

Interview: December 6, 2016 London

POE: December 19, 2016 Las Vegas

N-400 filed: September 30, 2019

Oath: March 22, 2021 COVID-style same-day oath

NVC can be very fast in some cases. But it is possible to slow it down. Personally, I want it to go as fast as possible and have all my stuff here ready to go when the time comes.

Same here! I want everything to go smooth and fast as possible. My case was approved on June 1st. NVC received my case on June 20th but they say it takes two weeks for them to assign a case number. I'll be calling tuesday to check if I have a case number already. This process is too darn frustrating and to know that some countries just get expedited it makes it even worse :( Praying for good news for YOU and me :D

April 5th 2016 - POE Newark. No questions asked.


April 14th 2016 - SSN received


May 10th 2016 - First day at my new job :dancing:


May 27th 2016 - Green Card received

Depending on the number of applications for one thing

Other is some people do not properly label with case number and DOB:s in upper right hand corner and things get lost

Other is NVC requires additional proof

i had trouble getting them to accept all my income reported on taxes as most is not taxable and they only look at the line that says "taxable income"

some just give up as the process is heartbreaking / if you look up the charts there are currently over 200,000 CR1 cases currently in the NVC stage / that is only family related cases

NVC misplaced our I130 a few years back. Not a fun situation when NVC and USCIS both have no idea where your paperwork is citing sending it to eachother.

Luckily ours turned up and it ended up granting us an expedite for the trouble.
