I am a USC and I am filing for my wife who is a citizen of Peru. I was wondering if anyone else may have had a similar issue to the one I have.

Last month the NVC asked for 2 additional police reports from Peru. The Certificate of Penal Records (Certificado Judicial de Antecedentes Penales) from Peru and the Certificate of National Judicial Records (Certificado de Antecedentes Judiciales a Nivel Nacional) from Peru. Along with that they asked for a police report from El Salvador. My wife has never lived in the country of El Salvador she did live in a district of Lima called Villa El Salvador so I am not sure how they confused that with the country. I am talking with my lawyer to see about getting the NVC to remove it. I know they said we have to send a letter stating she has never lived in El Savlador then they would investigate.

Has anyone else dealt with anything similar to this? I am concerned with how much longer this may delay our case.

I know no one answered but I just wanted to let folks know what happened. So my lawyer sent the NVC a letter stating that she has never lived in Salvador along with the other 2 police reports. The NVC let the El Savodar thing go and we are now at case closed and waiting for an interview date.
