Email after case receipt?

Hi all, and hello all July filers,

Package tracking says our I-751 was delivered to VSC this morning. Yay!

I am curious if anyone can tell me if we might expect an email confirming receipt, or if we should just check our back to see when the check is taken out, and wait for the letter in the mail. Additionally, if any late June or early July filers want to post here and let us know your processing times to see checks post or letters received, please do so!

Also, will the letter have a case number that we will be able to use here: https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do totrack the case?

Thanks for any info, and good luck to all!

The answer to most of your questions is (unfortunately) "It depends."

VSC can be notoriously slow. Our check took nearly 3 weeks to be cashed, and our NOA1 took almost 5 weeks.

You will have to wait for your biometrics appointment letter to get the number you use to "track" your case (It's called "Application #2 Number). Good luck with that, too, as once your NOA1 comes, it will say "Your case has been received" for at least the next 6-8 months.

Hopefully your month (July 2016) will use a Google spreadsheet, or you will maintain a table so you can see your progress as compared to others in your month!

Good luck on your journey.

PS: No, you will not get an email with a receipt. Hopefully you sent your packet with tracking so you can see that it arrived. Then watch for your check to clear. Your NOA1 will come about a week after that. That, and your biometrics appointment letter are the only communication you will get - both of which come by snail mail.
