After receiving NOA2, I understand that we're supposed to wait 2-3 weeks before calling to get our NVC numbers, but what happens after? I want to get everything in order before getting my NVC number because I'm a spazz and want to have everything ready :D I would be extremely grateful if someone could explain the process to me. I've been reading online, but VJ members have helped me much, much more than anything else. Thank you so much in advance! :D

Will packet 3 be sent to myself or my fiance? How long does it take to receive it?

Have you tried looking at your country's portal here on vj or at the embassy's website? This part is country specific and what may work for one, can be completely different for another.

How far in advance can you request the VOG? From my understanding it can take up to 2 weeks to receive. My fiance and I would like to have the VOG in hand once packet 3 comes.

The website Karin provided has the checklist the embassy will send you (the pdf file near the top of the page). You can start gathering all of those documents (some will be needed from your fiance). Having all of that documentation in hand will make things much quicker once you receive packet 3. Also, there are examples of DS-160 under the forms section here on VJ that you could scan over to ensure you have all of that information gathered. If you haven't already, try getting your vaccination record that you will need for the medical exam. If you are missing any vaccines, you could make an appointment with your doctor now to get those (probably covered with your health insurance) to save some money at your medical with the civil surgeon.

Does everyone in the world you need all vaccinations on this list: https://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/immigrate/vaccinations.html ?

I went to the Public Health department in Amsterdam yesterday (GGD) yesterday. Some of the vaccinations on the list you get here as a child. Hepatitis A vaccination I got when I traveled outside Europe, Hep.B vaccination I got yesterday. But a few of them are still unclear to me: do I really need to take them?

- Influenza (griepprik) is traditionally given to people over 60 or 65. Do I need it, being 41?

- Meningococcal?

- Pertussis (kinkhoest)?

- Rotavirus? She told me my doctor/GP can do a blood test?

Hope someone can help! Especially people people who have to go the the Amsterdam consulate.

Pertussis is usually in a combo shot (DTap) diptheria, tetanus, and pertussis. That one you will need if you haven't had in the past 10 years.

I hope someone that has recently had a medical completed by the civil surgeon can enlighten us on exactly what all is needed. I have found extensive lists, and then found information that only DTaP, and MMR (unless you've had at least one dose since 12 months of age). I'm hoping it's the latter.

I can understand the flu vaccine being required. However it is usually not available until Sept as flu season typically begins in October.

  • 4 weeks later...

I have done all on the Package 3 list. Did send the statement that I collected all the evidence. Now package 4 has to come. I have not received anything yet.

Is there for the Amsterdam consulate a web link where I can book medical and perhaps already pay and even book the interview?

Thanks!
