I will be filling as the USC later this year for me and my partner but had a question on which embassy he will need to visit. My partner is from Romania, birth and passport are Romanian, but he is currently living and working in the England. Will I be able to choose the London embassy as the location for his interview or will he need to travel back to Romania for the interview? I am hoping the answer is London as Romania tends to not be a friendly country for gay relationships.

03/25/21 - Application filed online; 01/15/22 - Interview Scheduled Notification;  02/22/22 - Interview; 02/22/22 - Interview Passed and Same Day Oath Ceremony.  DONE!!!

Yes you have the option to select the city and country for interview. NVC prefers scheduling interview in the city/country the person is currently residing in anyway, so London is good.

2015-06-16: I-130 Sent

2015-08-17: I-130 approved

2015-09-23: NVC received file

2015-10-05: NVC assigned Case number, Invoice ID & Beneficiary ID

2016-06-30: DS-261 completed, AOS Fee Paid, WL received

2016-07-05: Received IV invoice, IV Fee Paid

2016-07-06: DS-260 Submitted

2016-07-07: AOS and IV Package mailed

2016-07-08: NVC Scan

2016-08-08: Case Complete

2017-06-30: Interview, approved

2017-07-04: Visa in hand

2017-08-01: Entry to US

Yes London, since that is where he is legally residing now.

Phil (Lockport, near Chicago) and Alla (Lobnya, near Moscow)

As of Dec 7, 2009, now Zero miles apart (literally)!

Thank you! I was pretty sure that it would be London. It just seems like with everything in this process I feel fairly certain about something but then there is that little voice in my head that questions my reasoning because I want everything to go perfect and as smoothly as possible.
