Is too little time together grounds for denial?

My fiance and I started our relationship online September 13,2013. Then we met each other face to face on May 22,2014 to June 8, 2014. So we only had 2 weeks together. He just filed for a k1 visa last March 4, 2016. And we just got the NOA2 this month. Will we have a chance though? I just saw a recent thread where the girl got denied because they haven't spent time together that much :( and it's been more than two years since I was with my fiancée. It's made me very worried. I can't ask him to visit me since the USA doesn't allow that much vacation time and also travel is so expensive! If it helps fiance is only 22 while I'm 21. So we both never married before, and we're of the same religion too. I'm just really worried and paranoid now...

You have met the requirements of meeting at least once. But since that was long ago I don´t know how they will see it. My husband and I met twice before we got married and we got married 1,5 year after we first started talking online. In total we have gone back and forward about 6 times since 2014 (started talking nov 2013)... It might be good if he could visit you at least one more time, but as long as you can provide proof of bonafied relationship... Not all cases are the same, it´s a case to case manner they go by. So even if someone else has problems because they only met once, doesnt mean that you will have the same issues. Good luck! I hope everything will go well for you guys.

I recommend trying to visit before the interview, I think it will definetly help. If you have lots of chat logs and pictures that's good too- like the member above said, just because someone has a problem doesn't mean you might face that too. Try to visit again though and take more pictures ! Good luck !

You have a chance, as you met the minimum requirement. But the minimum is often not enough, I would definitely recommend asking him to come, even if it is for a short visit; perhaps he can take unpaid time off work?

No problem!! I would say the majority doing the visa process through USEM in Manila only met each other in person for a couple weeks (give or take). Relax... what happens in other embassies in other countries do not relate to USEM in the Philippines. As long as you have a genuine relationship all will be fine in that regard.

Now that you have your NOA2, jump over to the Philippines forum with your questions relating to the visa process there. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/129-philippines/

For details on the K-1 visa process for the Philippines follow the flashing arrow below in my signature. (if you are on a phone here is the link http://visaconnection-philippines.com/ )

You really got lucky by even receiving your NOA2 as you met more than 2 years ago and the requirement is to have met once within the last 2 years which would be June 8, 2016... Pl is usually an easy country to get a visa from but I don't know. Please let us know how it goes!

They filed in March, so are within the 2 years.

The "meeting in person" requirement for the i-129f petition is to have met at least once within the last two years (doesn't matter how long/short of a visit).. The requirements for the K-1 visa is a totally different thing though, very country specific.

K-1: 12-22-2015 - 09-07-2016

AP: 12-20-2016 - 04-07-2017

EAD: 01-18-2017 - 05-30-2017

AOS: 12-20-2016 - 07-26-2017

ROC: 04-22-2019 - 04-22-2020
Naturalization: 05-01-2020 - 03-16-2021

U.S. passport: 03-30-2021 - 05-08-2021
