Be it on a plane, train, automobile, stadium, hotel bar etc etc

I have been in the company of many a celeb, done more famous than others...

I allowed one David Beckham a seat next to me once, nice chap and quite appreciative of the gesture (it was being saved for a friend of mine running late). Just a shame he was a Man Utd player all those years ago!

Less well known a few years back I shared a plane ride across the Atlantic with the chief medical officer of UK (firget the full title mind). On the way back from that trip I was next to the mother (or was it aunt) of the then speaker of the house Betty Boothroyd which some ppl (Brits) might remember.

There are others I know will come to me!

I sat next to several previous Indonesia presidents. Just because I was then a journalist back in my country, lol.

I met Emmanuel Adebayor (for folks not familiar with English football, he used to play for Manchester city FC) at private party in London. Really cool fella.

Ok you are stretching the "played for" part of the story there haha.. He was more of a bench warmer.?

If you count athletes as famous people, I was shopping at a toy store in Harvard Sq today and came face to face with Boston Celtics' newest transfer Al Horford. I should have asked for a photo but he was shopping with his kids didn't want to interrupt. Other than this, we were once in the same flight with ex-nba star Bill Walton. My wife walked over to first-class to get his autograph for my father in-law (he was a big fan of him).

In terms of politicians, Sarah Palin would be most famous person I confronted. We were walking in NYC last christmas and she walked out of a restaurant right in front of us. Waved at us and jumped into her limo.

3 of Bob Marley's sons.

Sean Paul

Rev Jesse Jackson

Rob Lowe

I've met all the above. Stood behind Obama while he gave a speech on our town a few years back. Had a cameo on several news shows as a result lol.

I had no idea those guys were Bob's sons. Jesse and Rob neither one look like him

Both halves of Barefoot in the Park. As a teenager, Robert Redford came up and stood next to me during a ceremonial re-burial of the bones of Jeremiah Johnson, in Wyoming. Then in college, in Montana, Jane Fonda sat down at the table right next to mine at a local coffee shop. Didn't chat with either, though, except to say hi.

I have quite a few:

Michael C Hall who played Dexter stood next to me on the train. When I told him I recognized him (this was back in his Six Feet Under days), he got off at Grand Central Station and practically sprinted away. I've convinced myself he was rushing off to buy me flowers. Still waiting on them there flowers, my love!(F)(L)

Mike Tyson hit on me outside a night club in NYC in 2002. I covered my ears and ran to take the first train home. OK, I pretended not to hear/notice him and slipped away.

Darrell Hammond from SNL sat next to me in a comedy club. Then another time I saw him walking quickly down 74th street near Broadway.

I made a cappuccino for Harry Connick Jr. at a French cafe in the Upper West Side. He was inattentive and impolite. :(

Susan Sarandon walked past me on 14th Street. She looked "normal".

Alison Janey shops at Whole Foods on Columbus Circle. She is very tall but unassuming in person.

Moby sat next to me in his tea shop in Chinatown and looks EXACTLY like he does on TV.

In the early 2000s, Jimmy Fallon would walk around 23rd Street and Lexington always looking like he needed a haircut. I think I've seen him a good 20-30 times. Like dude, stop stalking me!

Victor Garber used to hang around 23rd and Lex too.

Mo Rocca is a very nice man who gave me directions to the subway around Chelsea when I was new to NYC. I told him I thought his name was a play on the country Morocco but he said , nah, that's really my name. To this day I still feel kinda dumb about that. He was extremely good-natured.

Chuck Schumer shook my hand after my graduation ceremony in 2010. Nice firm grip and a sincere smile.
