Hey received nvc case and invoice number today ( was sent in 21st june)...

Wen i try to log in it says case # is not eligible for further process by nvc.. does it mean it takes some time to update or do i need to call nvc to chk abt it?

Usually NVC will send you an email with AOS fee invoiced and that time you can pay that fee and complete DS 261.

The message you are getting is good thing; because NVC is invoicing your fees currently.

The email you receive from NVC will have AOS fee invoiced. Usually it takes 24 hours.

Since we cannot be sure if the bar code contains only information about the current page or affects the whole application, then I prefer to add an explanation letter. What I'm thinking is that the bar codes contains the information on the current page plus is somehow connected to the other pages to avoid overwriting a form. For example, I might make my sponsor sign a I-864 form and then re-do the whole form except the signature page. Do you see my point? I'm afraid if I print only the corrected page, they might get the wrong message and reject my whole package.

There is no bar code on i-864. None.

Hey guys... I called NVC today and they told me about a checklist. There are two thing, one with my mother in law I-864A form and the other something about my certificate from Ministry of Justice. For the second I'm 100% sure that I sended the receipt from local post office for my application, couse the us embassy does only accept certificate from Ministry via post only.

For the first, something with my mother in law form, she filled couse my wife added a joint sponsor, her father, so his wife should also fill I-864A. Now my question is:

Is there any chance to talk with a supervisor at NVC and request them to send all the requested information to embassy at the day of interview? Couse all other documents, mine, my wife and her joint sponsor are OK.

I'm waiting to receive details in e-mail and hoping to be little things so I can talk back to a supervisor and ask if I can send them to interview on embassy.

Sure, if you first get a response, please share it. Keep my fingers crossed.

Just spoke with NVC rep. They said as long as we filled out the application with black ink we should be fine. Someone will review the entire application even after scanning the barcode.

Before I call NVC tonight and ask my questions, could you please help me with this one?

I did not know that I had to file taxes even when I reside abroad so I filed taxes for the last 3 years and I am about to mail them out to IRS on Saturday.

I will send NVC a copy of all three returns (despite the fact i have a joint sponsor) and of course, W2's are not applicable in this case.

When I read the I-864 instructions, it says:

"If you were required to file a Federal income tax return during any of the previous three tax years but did not do so, you must file all late returns with the IRS and attach an IRS-generated tax return transcript documenting your late filing before submitting Form I-864."

When I submit my returns (done on paper), I need to wait 6-8 weeks before ordering a transcript and another 10-30 business days till I get it.

Unfortunately, I am not able to get it online as I do not have a US based phone number showing my name or bank account.

So, my questions are:

1) Will copies of my filed late returns be enough for NVC when I have a joint sponsor?

2) If no - will it be at any help if I submit an official employer's letter showing income from wages and local taxes paid for all 3 years (instead of W2's)?

3) Can/Will they reject my package due to the lack of a tax transcript of my filed late tax returns?

I'm really nervous. I do not want to wait for months till I send the package ;( ;( ;( Please help!

I got the three N/A's yesterday and rang to confirm case complete!

I am sorry about I am not very familiar with this topic. I have seen people sending their tax returns and W 2's instead of transcript. However, since W 2's are not applicable in your case you will need a transcript from IRS. I dont think they will reject your packages. You will get checklist and will be required to send transcript to the NVC.

Call them today. They should have a scan date for you most likely.
