Helo fellow VJers.

My husband will send our AOS and IV packet to NVC this monday

I just want to make sure that everything in the packet is complete to avoid checklist.

In the email we received, the barcoded coversheet.its a list of documents to send, just to check the box.

But i have to clarify things, SHOULD WE STILL INCLUDE THE PICS AND CHAT LOGS AND EVERY PROOF OF OUR RELATI0NSHIP?or its n0t needed anym0re?

Thank you guys in advance for the help,i kn0w m0st of you already c0mplete their case. And Godbless in our journey :)

I'm the beneficiary (Canadian citizen) and my husband (US Citizen) is the petitioner, so in the list it said to bring proof of relationship of him to the joint sponsors. I submitted his US passport as proof of his citizenship, so maybe I just need his Birth Certificate (which we provided with the I-130), but I can just easily bring a copy of that, maybe some family photos?

As for the W2, they were in the application, so maybe they just missed it? I sent in close to 70 pages of documentation, so I can see how a W2 for one year, for one person can be missed.

Okay so here's the thing, according to the NVC site, anyone can be a joint sponsor or co-sponsor. The co-sponsor is the one where you fill the i-864a form where they live in the same household and you can show the relationship in that. For the joint sponsor, they fill the -864 and they don't necessarily have to be related or show relationship so this is weird. someone else can confirm that. if your husband's parents are joint sponsoring then yes they would like to see the relationship between them and your husband. They also probably want to confirm that your husband did send the right form as they don't live in the same household. I am using my brother's income to help me and I have already written a letter and gotten our driver's license and birth certificates to show we live in the same household and we are related but my form i-864a asks for it.

I would recommend calling NVC to confirm what they are looking for really and how they would like you to send in that information. Plus I don't know about canadian ways to be honest but it is best to always call and confirm if you are confused about something.

From my research so far and many will tell you here, it is best to write your case number on the top-right hand corner in case NVC do loose the document, which they often do one way or another so it is best to always write numbers and case number so they can locate it. But yea just take the W2 or send it again.

Hi does any one know if the applicant has to send the police clearance report to nvc or is it ok to just take it at the interview?

Hi,

so it really depends on the country. Like for me, I don't need to send it to NVC as they told me it is not needed but it is good to take it at the interview as they might require it. beside mine is valid for 3 months only.

Oh congratulations to everyone who have had their cases completed or went to the next step. Hopefully my case number is assigned soon. I just passed 1 week of having my case at the NVC.

I just got a checklist for a police certificate from a country where I resided less than 1 year. In the travel.state.gov website it clearly states that I need a police certificate from a country where I am not residing currently only if I stayed there for more than 12 months (6 months if I am currently living there). What do you guys think ı should do? Obtaining an unnecessary police certifcate will delay me for at least 2 more months.
